There were also some electrifying players that were exciting to watch. To start off, here are the top five running backs of the spring season in St. Louis county.
Lionel Banks Lionel Banks 5'5" | 185 lbs | RB Hazelwood Central | 2022 State MO Hazelwood Central c/o 22. Banks ran like a mad man all season, contributing to Central’s dominating rushing attack. Banks runs hard every play. He is very shifty as well, and ran through a plethora of tackles. This season Banks was second in the Suburban Conference Green Pool, rushing for 547 yards for 87 carries and eight touchdowns. He will be the topic of discussion amongst college scouts this offseason.
Charles Johnson Jr Charles Johnson Jr 5'5" | 150 lbs | RB Pattonville | 2022 MO . Pattonville c/o 22 . Johnson is a very elusive back. He was very hard to take down this season, running all over the place on the field. Johnson is fast and knows how to maneuver through traffic. He led the conference in rushing with 692 yards and seven touchdowns. Johnson will be an exciting player to see next fall.
Jamarion Price Jamarion Price 5'5" | 180 lbs | RB Hazelwood Central | 2022 MO Hazelwood Central c/o 22. Price was also a key factor to Central’s rushing attack. Just like Banks, he’s able to bounce off tackles and make people miss. Price is the most dangerous when he’s free in the open field. This season, Price finished this spring season with 355 rushing yards and six touchdowns. If he was a major problem this spring, who knows what damage he will do in the fall.
Armon Hill Armon Hill 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Hazelwood East | 2022 State MO Hazelwood East c/o 22. Hill is a fast, power back. He is persistent in hitting holes and running straight downhill. Hill also made some great catches at receiver. His strength and size made it hard for defenders to bring him down. This season, he ran for a total of 214 yards and five touchdowns. Hill will be one of the power backs to watch in the fall.
Elijah Fry Ritenour c/o 23. Fry was a beast this spring season. Although he’s a sophomore, he did a lot of damage on offense. He is a hard runner down hill, and he is a huge asset during goal line situations. This season, Fry ran for 187 yards and threetouchdowns. He’s just getting warmed up, and he will be one of the top dogs in the fall.
