Entering his 8th season as the head football coach of the Seahawks, and his 16th overall at the school, this is someone who more than has the pulse of the community and the players at the tip of his finger.
Currently the all-time winningest coach for football and softball at this panhandle program, Tisa has climbed the ladder – and in his tenure at the school, he has also served as Defensive Coordinator, Offensive Coordinator, Linebackers and Receivers. He has been selected as Coach of the Year in the region twice.
It’s because of the success that he and his coaching staff have enjoyed through the years that has made this program one to watch this coming season.
Coming off a 4-6 record this past Covid season, the Seahawks found out a lot about themselves.
Losses to 1A state champion Baker, Port St. Joe, Panama City Arnold, Bratt Northview and Panama City Rutherford certainly gave this team something to learn from.
Those losses pointed out what this program needed to work on this off-season, and as spring begins this week, you can almost guarantee that the Seahawks will have plenty of position battles up for grabs.
Among those rising seniors (2022) who figure to make a huge impact in 2021 is receiver Cade Roberts Cade Roberts WR Santa Rosa Beach South Walton | 2022 FL (5-11, 187), who was among the top pass-catchers in Florida this past season.
Roberts and several others were responsible for wins against Defuniak Springs Walton, Marianna, Pensacola Lighthouse Christian and Panama City Bay.
Also, Lawrence Corkran (6-1, 240), Noah Ford (S/WR, 6-1, 145), talented Kemper Hodge (QB, 6-1, 219), Gustavo Perez (MLB/OG) and versatile lineman Ismael Ali-Santos (OL/DL).
Last year at this time, the program received a huge shot-in-the-arm when nationally-rated tight end/receiver Pearce Spurlin Pearce Spurlin 6'6" | 220 lbs | TE Santa Rosa Beach South Walton | 2023 State FL III (6-6, 210) made his way south from Georgia, and the attention has been something that the Seahawks will take full advantage of – especially when it comes to exposing their prospects.
What this young man brings to the program is a major standout, who has already committed to attend Georgia – some two years away.
In addition, the Class of 2023 will also feature Gabe Hanson (WR/DB), Connor Carlyle (Athlete), Zander Cobb (PK) and gifted Anders Herrman (6-3, 190). Also keep your eye on Class of 2024 rising sophomore Garrett Fancher (OLB, 5-10, 190).
