Just the like pandemic issues, head coach James Booth and his staff knew they were going to get maximum effort, but being consistent was certainly an issue.
Losing four times against quality opponents – such as Bradenton Manatee (32-27), Valrico Blooomingdale (37-20) once in the regular season and once (35-21) in the playoffs, and Tampa Hillsborough (32-14), the Raiders were looking to learn from those setbacks.
With a very competitive and busy off-season, the focus will be on bring your “A” Game every week – and as spring is quickly approaching, it will be about the rising senior (2022) class that will get this program headed in the right direction.
With wins over Riverview (44-7), impressive Tampa Bay Tech (43-42), Strawberry Crest (30-0) and rival Plant City Durant (35-7), the experiences learned this past season will truly help moving forward.
The Class of 2022 will have some quality talent – such as Reggie Bush (RB, 5-8, 170), Rhet Conyers (LB, 5-11, 215), D.J. Haynes (FS/RB, 6-1, 195), Jermarian Jackson (CB, 6-3, 175), Ian Jolly (FS, 6-2, 170), Romello Jones (RB/CB, 5-11, 178) and offensive linemen Josiah Lancaster Josiah Lancaster OL Plant City | 2022 FL (6-5, 320) and Jovoni Torres (6-7, 325).
The Raiders will also rely on quarterback Carson Mohler Carson Mohler 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Wharton | 2022 FL (6-3, 230), and talented receivers Jariyah Sawyer (5-10, 175) and Sincere Williams (5-10, 155).
UNDERCLASSMEN WILL BE ESSENTIAL
With spring uncovering some more younger prospects that will be huge this coning season, look for Class of 2023 standouts Clint Danzey (QB, 6-1, 170) and Javan Futch (DT, 6-4, 315) – as well as Class of 2024 prospects Jon Coleman (WR, 6-0, 160) and Zykee Joyce (WR, 6-1, 170) to be impact players as well.
