Parkside put on a great display of offensive force against James M. Bennett on Saturday, winning 40-12. From start to finish, Parkside controlled the offensive line of scrimmage, mainly running behind their senior right guard Cole Russ. Their offensive line allowed them to control the tempo of the game, and eventually pull away in the second half. For Bennett, they followed the same script that Parkside was using. Their fullback Micah Reddish was the bright spot for the Clippers, continuously finding holes in the Parkside defense. His effort alone kept the game close before a squib kick, that was returned for a touchdown at the halftime whistle, allowed Parkside to start pulling away. So, who caught the eye? Micah Reddish, Bennett, RB/FB, 2021 The standout performance for Bennett was, without a doubt, Micah Reddish. Parkside had little answer for him throughout the day, even when the game got out of hand. He ran with a low pad level and had defenders bouncing off of him. He also showed the receiving, and run after catch ability, on the play of the day for Bennet. He took a screen pass for a touchdown after making the first tackler miss. On the day, Micah showed great instincts and an ability to make something out of nothing. Every time they needed a big play, he was the one they ran behind. The one factor that stood out was his effort when playing to the whistle. on each touchdown run, Cole put his man on the ground. When he had the angle on down blocks, Cole played with great leverage and strength in his punch to put the defensive tackle on his back. On one touchdown run, he pulled and put two players on their respective backs. This opened the hole for one of Terrez's touchdowns and was the play of the game for me Terrez Worthy, Parkside, RB/OLB, 2022 Terrez put on a show Saturday tearing apart the Bennet defense. He has the ability to find the hole and get upfield. Several times he had the speed to beat the defender to the edge. He did a great job of showing patience and allowing his blockers to set open holes. This led to him accounting for several of the touchdowns that Parkside scored on the day. It was behind his efforts that Parkside was able to rotate in some of their backups in the second half.
