Coach O and Jasone Pearson with 806HSSC held a trench warfare camp in Lubbock to showcase some of the local talent. Players from all over west Texas, the panhandle, and even a few from Oklahoma and DFW showed up to put their skills on display. The offensive linemen put on a show, with several players flashing their talent.
Camp MVP – Hunter Mastin Hunter Mastin 6'2" | 250 lbs | OL Trinity Christian Lubbock | 2023 State TX – 2023 Trinity Christian C
Mastin was a force at the center position; able to anchor down and win just about every rep he took. He plays with a great base, low center of gravity, strong hands, and has the ability to recover quickly if knocked off balance.
OL MVP – Karson Jones – 2022 Frenship T
Jones had yet another camp where he dominated everyone he came in contact with. He is the prototype tackle at 6’5, 285lbs, with long arms, a strong punch, and an excellent base.
Jihad Lateef Jihad Lateef 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Estacado | 2022 State TX – 2022 Estacado T
Lateef came into the camp with 8 D1 offers, and he did not disappoint. He has fantastic size at 6’4, 275lbs. Jihad moves extremely well for his size and has really good strength to compliment his athleticism.
Brooks Leinen – 2022 Tascosa T
Leinen is another tackle prospect with great size at 6’4, 275lbs. He is very strong, has good movement skills, and a play style similar to a bouncer at a nightclub.
Seth Heller – 2022 Midland Lee C
Heller is 6’1, 295lbs, with a wide-body frame. He moves well for his size and is able to anchor down to halt the pass rusher.
Colter Lynch – 2023 Panhandle T
Lynch is long and lean at 6’4 260lbs. He moves very well, covering a lot of ground in his pass sets. His hand usage allowed him to lock up the pass rushers and drive them past the quarterback most of the day.
Jason Smith – 2022 Lubbock High T
Smith has long arms and a lean body. He is very athletic and flowed into his pass sets to protect the edge. The effort and motor on Smith stand out the most.
Jaxon Alexander – 2023 Midland Christian C
Alexander has a low center of gravity at 6’0, 225lbs. He moves well and has a strong punch in his hands, and a nasty streak when given the chance to finish off a block.
Kolani Supa – 2022 Frenship OG
Supa is an interesting prospect because of his position flexibility. At some point in his career, he has played at center, guard, and tackle. He has a wide frame at 6’1, 260lbs, which translates best to him playing inside at the next level. He has a violent punch and is very agile for his size.
