Finishing 2-7 in the pandemic season, there were no excuses given by the players and coaches. The only thing that remedies losing football is hard work, and that exactly what the Ravens plan to do this off-season.
Heading into spring, there is simply no time to dwell on the what ifs. What needs to be accomplished – is having more performances like the wins over Tampa Leto (43-0) and Tampa Freedom (47-12) instead of some of the lackluster games this program turned in.
What needs to take place is the rising senior class (2022) needs to take control, show leadership and display the talent needed to give this program a boost in 2021.
Among those rising seniors that this team will count on includes Daemian Clute (LB, 5-11, 180 – 3.4 GPA), Travis Croichy (RB, 5-10, 165 – 2.6 GPA), Kevin Crump (OLB/DE, 6-4, 200 – 2.5 GPA), Jovanni DeJesus (DB/S, 5-11, 160 – 2.6 GPA), Felix Diaz (OL, 6-3, 285 – 3.56 GPA), Sergio Garcia (Center, 6-1, 260 – 3.56 GPA) and safety/cornerback Aminadab Maldonado (5-10 175).
Also, keep an eye on players such as Kristen Massingill (QB, 5-8, 165 – 3.25 GPA), Elijah Rhoden (QB, 5-8, 160 – 3.11 GPA), Javier Sanchez (CB, 5-10, 150 – 3.36 GPA), Colin Valentin (LB/S, 6-1, 195 – 2.96 GPA), Connor Walters (OL, 6-2, 260 – 3.5 GPA) and kicking specialist Hunter Walters (6-0, 195 – 3.86 GPA).
TALENTED UNDERCLASSMEN WILL HELP
With such a large rising senior group, the underclassmen will be helpful, but not counted on to come in and produce right away.
In 2023, there are lineman Luis Cabrera (5-10, 200), linebacker Gavin Hughes (5-11, 155 – 4.0 GPA) and versatile Ty Stillings (OLB/DB, 5-7, 150 – 3.0 GPA).
The Class of 2024 (rising sophomores) also features players like Owen Beach (RB/FB, 5-10, 170 – 3.0 GPA), Levaun Hall (DL, 5-8, 270 – 3.56 GPA), Cole Herbig (WR, 5-8, 145 – 3.93 GPA), Dah’mieyon “Dom” Paulin (QB, 6-1, 185 – 2.6 GPA) and receiver Ammari Range (6-0, 145)
