Not always getting the tackles or names called over the speakers a DL can single handedly disrupt a game causing the offense to completely adjust their attack. DL are mean and nasty but ask any Linebacker and they will tell you without a good DL they have a hard night. More and more NFL teams with new front offices are building their teams on defense starting in the trenches with DL. A good DL helps win games; a great DL helps win championships.
Nic Thompson Nic Thompson 5'11" | 210 lbs | DL Springdale | 2022 State AR – 2022 DE Springdale Bulldogs
Nic stands at 6’0 and weighs in at 210 pounds. Playing DE for the Bulldogs is also versatile enough to play MLB well. Nic recorded 13 solo tackles, 28 TT, 4 TFLs, .5 sacks, and 3 QB hurries his junior year. Nic uses his quick feet and great get-off to shock Offensive Tackles. Nic plays from sideline to sideline using his extension to create an easy way to stay in his gap assignment and making the tackle. Nic is an athlete who can help his defense wherever he is needed. Colleges should be taking notes this fall on Nic because he is defiantly an asset to any collegiate level defense.
Justin Sobczak Justin Sobczak 6'6" | 235 lbs | DL Cabot | 2022 State AR – 2022 DE Cabot Panthers
Justin is another DL who plays the DE position for the Cabot Panthers and Justin will have opposing offenses full attention in their game plan prep. Justin stands at 6’6 and weighs in at 240 pounds, Justin is everything a DL coach at any collegiate level is looking for. Recording 26 solo tackles, 36 TT, 3 sacks, 1 FB, and 1 FR his Junior year. Justin has tremendous get-off and uses his arms to extend off the OT gaining the upper hand early. Justin can use his speed to put the OT on sleds beating him on his way to sack the QB. Justin does not get up field to far and seems to play both the run and the pass equally well. His height allows him to get his hands into QB throwing lanes. A full DE package, colleges need to be watching Justin this fall.
Garret Farnam Garret Farnam 6'0" | 185 lbs | DL Perryville | 2022 State AR – 2022 DL Perryville Mustangs
Garret played in only 7 games for the Perryville Mustang’s defense but still recorded 9 solo tackles and 28 TT. Garret is a stump of a kid at the DL position. He takes on a double team as well as anyone. Garret’s best weapon is his strength. Garret has good get-off and uses his strength to his advantage. Hard to move by offensive lineman, Garret plays his gap stuffing the run game and takes away the inside running escape lanes used by the QB. Garret is someone who has a lot to offer, and I believe his senior year will be spent proving that to Colleges everywhere.
Jaden Vallance Jaden Vallance 5'11" | 245 lbs | DL Quittman | 2022 State AR – 2022 DL Quitman Bulldogs
Jaden stands at 5’11 and weighs in at 245 pounds. Do not let his size full you though. Jaden has quickness and that allows him to Have good get-off. Recording 21 TT his Junior year. Jaden uses his size though to take on doubles opening his fellow LBs to make the tackles. Jaden stays in his gap assignment and is a mean tackler. This fall I am sure Jaden will have opposing offenses taking notice and colleges as well.
Logan Love Logan Love 6'3" | 220 lbs | DL Quitman | 2023 State AR – 2023 DL Quitman Bulldogs
Logan stands at 6’3 and weighs in at 210 pounds. Logan’s sophomore year stats are part of a building resume that includes 38 TT, 7 TFLs, and 1 sack. Logan has long arms that allow him to get extension and play his gap well. Logan also plays his gap assignment well and when his gap moves parallel then Logan moves with it. Logan also has good get-off helping him gain the quick upper hand. Logan’s upcoming Junior year should be patiently watched by colleges because Logan is ready to show off in 2021.
