There’s no five-star offensive linemen in the state for the 2022 class, but there are a few who should see their stock rise over the next few months. Once summer camps open up on college campuses, linemen across the state will start to see their recruitment take off. There are plenty of guys with size and raw potential, so it’s only a matter of time before the offers start rolling in.
Here are a few 2022 “under the radar” offensive line prospects to know for the 2021 season…
Jalen Farmer Jalen Farmer 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Eastside | 2022 State GA – Eastside
Arguably the biggest under the radar lineman in the Atlanta area, Farmer is a good-looking prospect at 6-foot-5 325-pounds and has impressive film from last season. The Covington native has two offers from Georgia Tech and East Carolina, but he could see more coming his way if he can get out to camps on college campuses this summer. Farmer plays with a mean streak and can physically dominant most of his opponents. He consistently gets his man on the ground and is looking to leave a bruise when he makes contact. He’s an extremely physical blocker and can play either guard or center. He’s got size, strength, and he appears to have nice footwork for someone his size. He’s certainly someone who could help a D1 program down the road.
Elijah Ruiz – Gainesville
One of the biggest sleeper offensive linemen in all of North Georgia, the Gainesville standout is a multi-year starter on the offensive line and will play left tackle this fall as a senior after starting at center for the last two years. The 6-foot-4 292-pounder is one of the best overall linemen in the region and projects as a guard or center at the next level. He’s strong in the upper body and is working hard to add more muscle this off-season. Ruiz bench-presses 295-pounds, squats 495-pounds, and power cleans 275-pounds. He was the “quarterback” of the OL last year despite Gainesville having two Power 5 players with him. Overall, Ruiz is a guy who moves well, he gets to the second level in the run game, and he plays every play until the whistle. He’s got a lot of potential and could see some interest coming his way this summer.
Griffin Scroggs Griffin Scroggs 6'4" | 300 lbs | OL Buford | 2022 State GA – Grayson
We all know the mighty Grayson Rams pump out talent, and they have another D1-caliber lineman in Griffin Scroggs Griffin Scroggs 6'4" | 300 lbs | OL Buford | 2022 State GA . He already holds some smaller offers from Buffalo, Florida Atlantic, Liberty, Kansas, among others, but the impressive 6-foot-4 295-pounder could see his ranking rise over the next few months. A Max Preps 2nd Team All-State selection, Scroggs is coming off a big junior season where he helped anchor an outstanding Grayson offensive line to a state championship. One of the best centers in the state, Scroggs is extremely physical and opened up a lot of holes between the tackles for four-star running back Phil Mafah Phil Mafah 6'1" | 213 lbs | RB Grayson | 2021 State GA . He was a pancake machine last year and is expected to be even better season as a senior.
