Sometimes, you get to see some things in person about a prospect that you couldn’t see on film. Over the next several months, I’ll be evaluating prospects from all over the Northeast in person and bringing my thoughts to Prep Redzone.
Here is Vol. 1 of my live evaluations.
Alex Fox Ι 6-4 Ι 290 Ι Offensive Tackle Ι New Castle Ι 2022
After watching some more game highlights camp film on Alex Fox, I believe he’s a strong FCS/Division II prospect. He gets out of his stance quickly to get into his work. Decent explosiveness into initial contact. Taller athlete that needs to play with more knee-bend. Above-average redirect footwork for his size. I could see Fox playing the guard position at the next level too.
Kyle Helm Ι 6-2 Ι 335 Ι Center Ι Exeter Ι 2022
Helm missed the last couple of seasons because of a leg injury. According to his father, he has fully recovered. Currently, he is getting back into football shape as much as possible. I didn’t have any previous film to go on before evaluating him in person. To my surprise, Helm’s feet were quicker than I expected.
Jaiman Holden Ι 6-3 Ι 305 Ι Offensive Guard Ι Farrell Ι 2022
On a day where the offensive linemen dominated the 1v1’s, Holden was one of the main athletes dominating the competition. He was strong at the point of attack and didn’t give up ground during most of his 1v1’s. Because of his size, his best position may be an offensive center at the next level. Very difficult to bull rush. Doesn’t have the length in his arms but has the pop. Looked more agile in person than he did in his 2020 season highlight film.
Owen Ordonez Owen Ordonez 6'3" | 220 lbs | DL Lewisburg | 2022 State PA Ι 6-2 Ι 215 Ι Defensive End Ι Lewisburg Ι 2022
I have to believe Owen Ordonez Owen Ordonez 6'3" | 220 lbs | DL Lewisburg | 2022 State PA is playing defensive tackle for his team out of necessity. He battled against some tough offensive linemen in the trenches. I like what I saw from him coming off the edge.
Xavier Galban Ι 6-1 Ι 215 Ι Defensive End Ι Neumann Goretti Ι 2022
Galban was one of the few defensive linemen that could win a good amount of 1v1 reps against an impressive offensive lineman group. Galban lined up at both defensive end and defensive tackle positions. On the inside, Galban used his quickness to beat offensive linemen off the snap. On the edge, it was mostly speed and a few pass-rush moves that enabled him to win some reps. I can easily see him playing as a rush outside linebacker. The speed at which he gets off the ball and speeds up stands out when watching him.
