Five Players Impressing at Camps this Weekend

Other than the football season, the camp and seven-on-seven is my favorite time of year from a recruiting perspective. We are going to look at five players from the state of Arkansas that have I put on a show in Dallas this weekend. It really should come as no surprise that talent from the state of Arkansas is putting on strong performances at the Pylon 7on7 tournament.
Walker Catsavis Walker Catsavis 6'4" | 170 lbs | WR Fort Smith Northside | 2022 State AR -Fort Smith Northside-Athlete-2022
Catsavis has done nothing but improved his recruiting stock all year. Catsavis worked all over the field for Fort Smith Northside in 2020. He is a playmaker at both the quarterback and the wide receiver positions. Catsavis is a multi-sport athlete, and he shows his explosive leaping ability on the basketball court, but he also does an excellent job of displaying in the red zone. Catsavis has had no trouble stepping back onto the gridiron and hauling in highlight reel receptions. He should have no problem carrying over the camp performances to the field this fall. Scholarship offers are going to follow especially when Catsavis continues to light up the camp circuit during the spring and summer.

The Prescott Curley Wolves have a player in the form of Omarion Dickens Omarion Dickens 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Prescott | 2022 State AR that is catching scout’s eyes with his play in 2020 and his impressive athleticism in the camp circuit. Dickens has played the wide receiver, cornerback, and safety positions for the Curley Wolves and he has made plays at every position. Dickens has proven playing in the secondary that he will make the tackle and that he has a nose for the football. Last season, Dickens picked off one pass and caused one fumble. Dickens has the hands to play the wide receiver spot and being 6-1 and 182 pounds, he has the size and speed to play the slot receiver possession.

We have already seen that the Curley Wolves have a talented football team going into the 2021 season. Caleb Harris Caleb Harris 6'3" | 230 lbs | TE Prescott | 2022 State AR is the definition of a red zone threat for Prescott. Harris racked up 400 yards receiving and caught nine touchdown passes last season. At 6-4, Harris can go up and catch any pass that is thrown his way in the red zone. During the season, Harris has proven that can fill the role of a receiver and a blocker. He is an unselfish player and he helped lead the Curley Wolves to a 10-1 record. Harris has already four division one scholarship offers and as the camp circuit continues the chances of earning more are excellent.
Darien Bennett Darien Bennett 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2023 State AR -Jacksonville-Running Back-2023
The running back classes over the next two years is amazingly talented and the 2023 group is as talented as the 2022 group. Darien Bennett Darien Bennett 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2023 State AR has terrific speed and is a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators to attempt to scheme against. He is an extremely versatile running back who has no problems catching passes out of the backfield. Bennett is a running back that will not be brought down on initial contact and he is looking to deliver a blow instead of taking one. Bennett already has a scholarship offer from Arkansas and he will certainly pick up some more over the next year. He has the potential to have a terrific season this season.

Austin Myers Austin Myers 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Vilonia | 2022 State AR has the arm strength to make all the throws that Vilonia coaching staff calls for him. Myers dealt with some injuries last season; however, his 2019 season was an impressive one. Myers passed for 1,303 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2019 and displayed that he could the offense. He is not afraid to use his legs to pick up extra yardage and keep drives alive. Myers lit up the Dallas Pylon camp over the weekend. He has two currently scholarship offers, and he has the potential to earn more over the offseason. Vilonia fans should look for a strong season from Myers and a playoff run. Myers should continue to light up the camp circuit as well and he should have a busy summer.
