Defense Highlights
The majority of the first half was a defensive battle ending with Eastern Alamance taking a 7-0 lead. Eastern Alamance D lead by Evan Powell Evan Powell 5'10" | 180 lbs | DB Eastern Alamance | 2021 State NC , DB, 5’10” 180 stopped Roxboro Person in the red zone several times. Roxboro Person did not have much success running the ball in the first half. Eastern Alamance defensive linemen were able to control the line scrimmage to their advantage. Evan Powell Evan Powell 5'10" | 180 lbs | DB Eastern Alamance | 2021 State NC and defensive back teammates were able to knock down several passes. Eastern Alamance D made several bruising tackles causing Roxboro Person to fumble the football in the first half. Missed defensive assignments led to scores by Roxboro Person in the second half. Roxboro Person defense held Eastern Alamance high – scoring offense to seven points in the first half. Preston Carr, DL, 6’3” 245 was the most dominant player on defense. He is quick out of his stance, often unblocked to make stops for losses. Preston Carr is difficult to block one-on-one. Roxboro Person D made several bruising hits that caused Eastern Alamance to fumble the football and recovery by Roxboro Person, leading to scores.
