Whether it’s the SEC, ACC or even as far away as the Mountain West, Florida-bred running backs have been turning heads and making a tremendous impact. Turn on the TV any Saturday or Sunday during the fall and you will see prospects, running the back from all over Florida – whether it’s here in the Sunshine State or anywhere across this impressive country.
As we keep our eye on this Class of 2022 – with the recent top 100 plus – we are sharing with you several members of that list which included 540 prospects from the class.
Today, we take a look at those rising senior running backs, who are firmly on the radar, despite battling this pandemic, giving you five prospects that are certainly on the radar screen of colleges and universities nationally:
Kaytron Allen Kaytron Allen 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB Bradenton IMG Academy | 2022 State FL , 6-0, 205, Bradenton IMG Academy. A good size back who runs hard and gets those extra yards. Solid talent we watched last year and came away impressed by everything he does. Over 1,100 yards on the ground and showed why he is viewed as one of the nation’s top runners. Came to IMG Academy from Norview High in Norfolk, Va. College coaches are already on this gifted young man.

Terrance Gibbs Terrance Gibbs 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Winter Park | 2022 State FL , 6-0, 195, Winter Park. After spending the season on the sideline with an ACL injury, one of Florida’s best running backs is ready to show that he is still as good as he was before the injury – maybe even better. Solid runner, who has speed, tremendous instincts and a knack of finding the holes. This tremendous runner is starting to pick up plenty of steam – and if he continues his progress in the spring and into the summer – 2021 will be very interesting.

Jaylon Glover Jaylon Glover 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Lakeland Lake Gibson | 2022 State FL , 5-9, 195, Lakeland Lake Gibson. As soon as you watch this impressive talent carry the ball, your questions are answered. He is quick, has outstanding vision and will not go down on the first hit. He is truly a nightmare for any defense, especially when he catches the ball like he does – up field. This is a big-time football player who is reaping the rewards for all the hard work he has put in, making the Braves a contender. Against top competition, this is someone who knows how to put it into another gear.

Isaiah Gordon Isaiah Gordon 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Daytona Beach Mainland | 2022 State FL , RB, 6-1, 210, Daytona Beach Mainland. A big powerful back who has speed and is elusive. What you have to like most about this talent is the way he has worked to put himself in a position where college coaches are paying plenty of attention. What many schools are looking for is a back that is durable, can get those tough yards and block. This is a young man who checks all those boxes.

Anthony Hankerson Anthony Hankerson 5'8" | 190 lbs | RB Fort Lauderdae St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL , RB, 5-8, 190. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. The humorous thing about this impressive runner is while many give him a spotlight and talk about him, very few appreciate what this quality running back is all about. First of all, there are very few – if any – who can dominate a game like he does. Fast, strong, powerful and will break away from you – in a second. Reminds many of current University of Florida back Nayquan Wright, who is as productive as you get. By the way, if Hankerson was lining up and scoring touchdowns, he just may be one of the top linebacker prospects as well.
