I spent time talking with the 2021’s that were in attendance as they are wrapping up their high school careers. For some they already have their college football careers set, for others, they are still awaiting an offer. Here are the 2021’s in the Legacy program going on one last ride.
Jalen Cunningham Jalen Cunningham 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Thornwood | 2021 IL QB Thornwood 2.7 GPA – Cunningham is still looking for a place to call home come fall time. He hasn’t had any interest in the recruiting process as of late and it’s shocking. He evades pocket pressure, has a solid touch on the deep ball, and can throw on the run. Cunningham gets the ball off under pressure utilizing his pocket footwork and solid release putting the ball in the WR basket for his teammates to go make plays.

Carmel 2.7 GPA – Daniel is a stellar player, he attacks downhill in run support, gets off of blocks to make the tackle, and has quick acceleration which helps him stay with his man in coverage. Daniel read & reacts quickly to the ball and isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to deliver the hit.

Jovan Marsh Jovan Marsh 5'10" | 180 lbs | DB Marist | 2021 IL DB Marist 4.1 GPA – Committed to Wyoming Marsh looks to go on one last ride with his fellow Legacy teammates. Marsh has a fluid turn of the hips, comes down in run support, and attacks downhill. He stays with his man in coverage, gets hands up to deflect passes, and gets pressure on the QB.

Andrew Love S Brother Rice 2.58 GPA – Committed to Milikin Love is here for the last ride, he’s disciplined in coverage not allowing himself to get beat deep. He fills holes in run support, attacks downhill, and makes open-field tackles. Love is solid in coverage, once he reads a play he plants his foot and attacks the ballcarrier.

Kaliub Hopkins Kaliub Hopkins 5'11" | 200 lbs | DB Simeon | 2021 IL S Simeon 2.5 GPA – Hopkins is a hard hitter, he covers sideline to sideline and has solid coverage skills. Dontrell Alford RB Bremen 3.2 GPA – Alford is can do both N/S & E/W running styles, he has quick acceleration and hits the running lanes hard. He’s able to bounce plays outside and turn the corner where he utilizes his jump cuts to make defenders miss. Alford is also a solid return man that breaks arm tackles and will block downfield for his teammates as well.

Chris Robinson WR/CB Alan B Shephard 3.5 GPA – Robinson has been overlooked by many, he is hungrier than ever to prove everyone wrong and has a work ethic like no other. He wakes up at 5 am to get an early workout in before heading to school and then has been hitting the field to work on routes and technical skills for WR. He has a tall and long frame with a high catch radius. With this being his last ride with Legacy and there being a senior season, look for Robinson to cement his name in the media with a breakout season.
Gabriel Thomas WR/LB Bremen 4.0 GPA – Thomas has no offers as of yet, he’s another WR for this Legacy team that has been overlooked and has a nice frame. Like Robinson, Thomas also has a high catch radius where he can go up and get the ball. Thomas is looking forward to this upcoming season to get his name out there and showcase what he can do. Once he gets film he’ll start getting interest from schools at the next level.
This Legacy 2021 team is going to cause problems when they start competing. Each of these players makes plays for their respected teams and aren’t going to disappoint in this shortened season. I would like to thank the Legacy 7 on 7 staff for their hospitality and for having me out for their practice. They have a great program that focuses on developing kids for the next level and preparing them for life after football.
