We caught up with Quast about his commitment to Bethel and what went into his decision!
Q: What impacted your decision to sign with Bethel?
Quast: I think the biggest thing that got me to go to Bethel was the environment. Everyone at the school seems to be motivated to grow deeper in their education alongside their faith. And I think that helped me make my decision better. I’ve always been a big fan of Bethel‘s, so the decision wasn’t that hard. But it was a little difficult because of the financial stuff.
Q: Were there any other college football programs in the running, or were you sold on Bethel for a while?
Quast: I think me and my family knew that bethel was my top school all my life. When my dad coached there for track, I would run around the indoor track. The only thing that we had to do was convince my mom because of the price, but she knew she wanted me there when she met coach J.
Q: What will be the biggest football adjustment you are going to need to make to adjust to the college game?
Quast: I think the biggest adjustment will probably need to get a little faster since everyone’s probably going to be around the same speed I am and strength. Also, getting more well-known with the position that I’m probably going to be playing since I’ve only played running back for a year now, I need to get more into that position.
Q: Is there any alumni or friends of your high school that impacted your decision? If you could name names, that would be great.
Quast: Jeanae Olsen, my dad, Baeza Tensaie, Jeanae, and Baeza both competed at Bethel University Jeanae was a track athlete, and Baeza was a football and track athlete. Jeanae is my godmother, and she is why my dad went to Bethel to Coach and Baeza went to Concordia Academy and he helps in the weight room now at Concordia.
Quick Eval:
Quast will more than likely play running back for the Bethel. When you watch his tape, you’ll find a prospect that has some quirk in his footwork. Runs well on the outside lanes.
