With nationally rated kickers in every class, college coaches are now heading south when looking for strong, accurate kickers who have been on the radar, competing in showcases across the country.
Look around the Sunshine State and you will see the very best – and the future certainly looks bright – as the Class of 2023 backs up.
Here are five rising juniors to keep an eye on:
Drew Ammon, K/P, Orange Park Oakleaf. One of the prospects that turned heads this past summer with his leg strength and versatility as a kicker and punter for a program that is one of the best in northeast Florida. Those who watched him this year believe that the future is indeed bright as a kicker and punter. In addition to kicking and punting, Drew is also a solid quarterback as well.

Samir Atassi, K/P, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. Imagine having to try and pick up where one of the nation’s best 2021 kickers, Andres Borregales Andres Borregales K Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna | 2021 FL , had departed for his final season at the high school level. What this young man has done is work hard on every phase of his kicking game. Solid kickoffs – and amazing accuracy on field goals and extra points. There is no doubt that with more work and dedication to his craft, Samir could be one of the best in the country over the next two years.

Luke Casper, K, North Palm Beach Benjamin. Yet another impressive talent who has outstanding leg strength and improving accuracy. You can watch him and tell that he is improving all the time – and as he continues to mature and grow, you will see him start to get the attention that many of the premier kickers/punters are receiving. Solid talent that has a solid work ethic and a passion for the craft.

Dayllon DePaula, K/P, Fort Myers Riverdale. After watching this young man do his thing last season – at a few showcases – you can see how much he has improved, gotten stronger and picked up more accuracy. Showed during a competition in December that leg strength will not be a problem – with 70-yard kickoffs and solid punts with major hang time. He is a very talented young prospect, who will be ready to compete at the college level with hard work.

Robert Hammond III. K/P, Loxahatchee Seminole Ridge. When he started to get instruction and work with some quality special teams people, his stock began to rise. What truly thrust him into the spotlight this winter was making nine field goals out of 10 attempts. There is no getting around the fact that this could be another elite prospect – like Borregales in 2021 and Miami Gulliver Prep’s Will Bettridge Will Bettridge K Miami Gulliver Prep | 2022 FL in the Class of 2022 – as one of the best in the nation.
