As is the case in Florida, receivers and defensive backs always are rated among the best in the country. Linemen, linebackers, running backs and quarterbacks also have filled collegiate rosters across the country for decades. Even special teams performers are starting to leave a mark.
When it comes to producing cornerbacks, there are few areas that can boast such amazing talent. Talent so good that every year, a prospect from the Sunshine State makes a huge impact – whether it’s in college or at the professional level.
As we continue to spotlight the 540 athletes that makeup our Updated Class of 2022 rankings, today we give you five elite cornerbacks who will be starting in some big-time college secondary over the next few years.
Earl Little Jr., CB, 6-0 170, Plantation American Heritage. Having been following this impressive talent since his youth days, you know how skilled and talented this young man is. Following in the footsteps of his father, who played at North Miami High, the University of Miami and in the NFL, his impact was felt this past season during a 5A state championship run.

Jaheim Singletary Jaheim Singletary 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Jacksonville Lee | 2022 State FL , CB, 6-1, 170, Jacksonville Lee. Make no mistake about this young man – this Ohio State University commitment just may be the No. 1 overall player in the state, regardless of the position – and when talking about defensive secondary performers, that is indeed very rare company to be in. Tremendous cover-corner with plenty of athletic ability to passion to play this game at a high level for years to come.

Daylen Everette Daylen Everette 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Bradenton IMG Academy | 2022 State FL , CB, 6-0, 180, Bradenton IMG Academy. Yet another quality defensive back, who has a chance to truly become one of the best in this class. A versatile talent who can play several positions in the secondary, but his skill level and fluid play makes him one to keep an eye on for a long time. Will be surrounded by some other gifted defensive backs in 2021. Has a chance to continue to climb the rankings ladder.

Nikai Martinez Nikai Martinez 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Apopka | 2022 State FL , CB, 5-11, 175 Apopka. Have been watching this gifted prospect for several years – and after a season in which he showcased some major skills, every college in the country is watching and appreciating all the things he does in the secondary for the Blue Darters. This is a football player that knows exactly where the ball is at all times – and if you watch him perform, you cannot help but be impressed.

Cam Miller Cam Miller 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Fernandina Beach | 2022 State FL , CB, 6-0, 170, Fernandina Beach. The theme with this group of defensive backs is that all of them can roll up their sleeves and play multiple positions, further showcasing their many skills. This is a young man that feels at home playing safety or lining up and playing man-to-man at the corner position. Other players feed off of what he brings to the table.
