In this article:
With every update of the Prep RedZone rankings we are always excited to have newcomers enter the rankings. The most recent update took us from 126 prospects to 169 prospects. We are going to examine a number of those recruits in this article and get a brief synopsis of what they have accomplished this over the course of four football seasons.
Jon Stanley Hill Jon Stanley Hill 6'6" | 240 lbs | DL Dumas | 2021 State AR , Defensive Line, Dumas
Jon Stanley Hill Jon Stanley Hill 6'6" | 240 lbs | DL Dumas | 2021 State AR has been an intriguing prospect to watch over the past few seasons. Hill has played both the offensive and defensive line positions. He was a monster on the defensive side of the ball last season. Hill racked up 71 tackles, seven sacks, three tackles for loss, blocked two punts, and forced a fumble. Hill had scholarship offers from Ouachita Baptist University and Northeastern State University. However, Hill has accepted a preferred walk on offer from the University of Arkansas and will compete for a spot on the defensive line for the Razorbacks. Hill entered the 2021 rankings at number 94. He is a quality player, and it would not shock me for him to see the field for Arkansas.
Jaheim Brown Jaheim Brown 6'0" | 205 lbs | QB Fordyce | 2021 State AR , Quarterback, Fordyce
Fordyce has been in a powerhouse in the state of Arkansas for many years now. The Red Bugs do a great job of finding quarterbacks like Jaheim Brown Jaheim Brown 6'0" | 205 lbs | QB Fordyce | 2021 State AR to lead the offense. What is impressive about Brown is that he can extend plays using his legs and his arm. He is not afraid to pull the ball down and pick up a first down to extend a drive. Brown passed for 2,196 yards and 27 touchdowns. However, he rushed for an additional 427 yards and 13 touchdowns. Brown picked up scholarship offers from Henderson State, Westminster, and Southern Arkansas and he announced recently he would be playing his college ball at Southern Arkansas. The young man has tremendous upside, and he will compete for playing time quickly.
Sebastian Rodriguez Sebastian Rodriguez 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Fayetteville | 2021 State AR , Defensive Back, Fayetteville
The Fayetteville Bulldogs always have a talented group, and the 2021 class is no exception to that rule. Rodriguez has good size for the cornerback or safety positions at 6-2. He was not afraid to get aggressive with wide receivers and had a knack for picking off passes. Rodriguez was a solid tackler and would not shy away from making a hit. He has good speed and would rarely be beat deep. Rodriguez will continue his athletic career at Henderson State as a baseball player.
Connor Clark Connor Clark 6'3" | 230 lbs | TE Jonesboro | 2021 State AR , Tight End, Jonesboro
The Jonesboro tight end will be playing his college football at Central Arkansas. He had a solid season for the Hurricane racking up 75 receptions for 1002 yards. Clark also tacked on seven touchdowns and made life difficult for opposing linebackers and safeties that attempted to cover him. Clark has good speed and is able to create separation well from the defensive players. Central Arkansas got a steal when they were able to land Clark and he should have a terrific college career. Clark jumps into the rankings at number 66.
Keystan Durning Keystan Durning 6'1" | 180 lbs | LB Ozark | 2021 State AR , Linebacker, Ozark
Durning makes plays all over the field from the linebacker position. What sticks out the most from Durning is that he plays with a mean streak and can disrupt the offensive backfield on his own. He is a linebacker that has flown under the radar, but he is one of the most solid defensive players in the state of Arkansas. Durning does not mind dropping back into coverage and he does a good job in pass coverage. He has certainly earned his spot in the rankings and he is going to be a steal for the school that lands him.
