Brandon Watson Brandon Watson 6'0" | RB Kingston | 2022 State OK – Kingston (#98 Overall)
Our first newcomer on this list was also one of the most productive backs in 2020. Brandon Watson Brandon Watson 6'0" | RB Kingston | 2022 State OK ran for over 1400 yards and 17 TDs this season and did so by being one of the best power runners in the class. Watson has excellent size for an RB at 6’0″ 195 Lbs and has good burst for a back of his running style. Brandon did most of his damage in between the tackles and was a hassle for defenders to take down thanks to his contact balance and vision. We expect big things out of Brandon Watson Brandon Watson 6'0" | RB Kingston | 2022 State OK in 2021.
Amaurion Norment Amaurion Norment 6'0" | RB Putnam City North | 2022 State OK – Putnam City North (#68 Overall)
Our next newcomer was another breakout star in 6A-2 for Putnam City North. Amaurion Norment Amaurion Norment 6'0" | RB Putnam City North | 2022 State OK does not have the crazy stats that some of the other backs on this list do, but what he did that impressed us most was produce at a consistent level against some of the toughest defenses in the state. Norment had to go through the likes of Del City, Midwest City, Stillwater, and Choctaw, and still managed to rack up 15 TDs on the season at a pace of 5.7 yards per carry. He did not receive a super heavy workload in 2020, averaging just over 12 carries per game, so it will be interesting to see if he will see a significant increase in carries in 2021 with a lot of their top pass catchers graduating in May.
Buddy Bizzell Buddy Bizzell 6'1" | RB Carl Albert | 2022 State OK – Carl Albert (#22 Overall)
Similar to Norment, Bizzell did not receive quite as many carries as some of the top rushers in the state, in fact, he received around 100 less carries than he did just a year ago. Yet somehow the “thunder” to Carl Albert’s thunder and lightning duo in the backfield with him and Javion Hunt Javion Hunt 6'1" | RB Carl Albert | 2021 State OK , was even better in 2020 than in 2019. He rushed for over 1000 yards and 21 TDs and averaged over 8 yards per carry despite the decrease in carries. Bizzell could be in for a monster senior season as he will get all the carries and more with Javion Hunt Javion Hunt 6'1" | RB Carl Albert | 2021 State OK going to Arkansas in 2021.
Braylin Presley Braylin Presley 5'9" | RB Bixby | 2022 State OK – Bixby (#8 Overall)
At this point what else can be said about Braylin Presley Braylin Presley 5'9" | RB Bixby | 2022 State OK ? He rushed for over 1700 yards and 25 TDs, had over 700 yards receiving, and is our 2020 Prep RedZone Oklahoma Player of the Year. He went up against some of the best teams in the state and flat out dominated them and often had his best games in the biggest of moments. He is absolutely electric and is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the state regardless of position or class. He is technically ranked one spot below BA running back Maurion Horn Maurion Horn 5'11" | RB Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK , but these two are really 1A and 1B in the class of 2022. Braylin has already proven that his size does not matter and that he will always shine. We cannot wait to watch him again in 2021 and see where he ends up at the next level as his recruiting has blown up over the last few months.
Maurion Horn Maurion Horn 5'11" | RB Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK – Broken Arrow (#7 Overall)
While Buddy Bizzell Buddy Bizzell 6'1" | RB Carl Albert | 2022 State OK is the thunder for Carl Albert’s backfield, Maurion Horn Maurion Horn 5'11" | RB Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK is definitely the lightning of Broken Arrow’s rushing attack. Despite splitting carries with Sanchez Banks Sanchez Banks 6'0" | RB Broken Arrow | 2021 State OK , Horn was one of the most electric runners in the state along with Braylin Presley Braylin Presley 5'9" | RB Bixby | 2022 State OK . He took advantage of every carry he got and had multiple long TD runs on his way to a 1000 yard season with nearly 1600 all-purpose yards. Horn has cemented himself as one of the best RB prospects in the state and has a chance to take his game to another level as the featured back in the Tigers’ run game next season.
