It includes eight-man football players, those in the SCHSL’s Class 4A, and several points in between. After a relative dip in the area’s recruiting scene this year, the CSRA is going to be a boon for future college players next December and February.
We broke down the CSRA’s best players in this five-part series.
RJ Ramp Jr. RJ Ramp Jr. 6'3" | 265 lbs | OL Fox Creek | 2022 State SCSCHOOL: Fox Creek
POSITION: Offensive lineman
ANALYSIS: The 6-foot-3, 265 pounder was seemingly built for the interior of both the offensive and defensive lines. And since he doesn’t get tired easily, he plays a boatload of snaps.
Noah Peterson Noah Peterson 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Strom Thurmond | 2022 State SCSCHOOL: Strom Thurmond
POSITION: Offensive lineman
ANALYSIS: A key component of a core group of soon-to-be returning starters who averaged a respectable 287 yards and 26 points per game was this 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman.
Chase Tillman Chase Tillman 6'5" | 250 lbs | DL North Augusta | 2022 State SCSCHOOL: North Augusta
POSITION: Defensive lineman
ANALYSIS: A leg injury sidelined the talented and impressive looking Tillman for the majority of 2020, but in his three games, he was in on 16 tackles, had three tackles for loss and a sack.
Jaden McLeod Jaden McLeod 6'0" | 210 lbs | DL Silver Bluff | 2022 State SCSCHOOL: Silver Bluff
POSITION: Defensive lineman
ANALYSIS: McLeod spread his five sacks across five games and added 20 tackles and nine for loss. Even moderate physical growth in the offseason will be a bad sign for opposing offenses.
Jevon Morris Jevon Morris 6'4" | 310 lbs | OL Ridge Spring-Monetta | 2022 State SCSCHOOL: Ridge Spring-Monetta
POSITION: Offensive lineman
ANALYSIS: Morris could easily rely on his 6-foot-4 and 310-pound frame and be fine in Class 1A. However, he’s learned how to use his wing span and plays each snap until the whistle.
