Carter Gallagher Carter Gallagher 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Columbus Catholic | 2022 IA , 6’1, 170, Columbus Catholic
Mr. Gallagher can beat you through the air with his arm or on the ground with his legs. He has the arm strength to throw a field comeback and will put the ball right on his target’s numbers. When he tucks it and runs it, he shows good shake in the open-field to go along with the ability to run through arm tackles. Carter doesn’t get rattled against the rush and can make something happen when the opponent brings a free rusher.
Zayvier Arguello Zayvier Arguello 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Newton | 2022 State IA , 6’2, 200, Newton
A dynamic runner in space who is an ideal fit in a power read offense. Zayvier has the arm strength to effortlessly throw the ball 50 yards downfield and will put it right into the receiver’s breadbasket in stride. He’s got a second gear once he gets to the secondary and can outrun defensive backs. He will climb the pocket when the rush in bearing down on him and will keep his eyes downfield looking for the open man.
Carson Toebe Carson Toebe 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Clear Lake | 2022 State IA , 6’3, 190, Clear Lake
This young man has calm feet in the pocket and the touch of a polished veteran. He knows when to put a little something extra on a ball to deliver a strike and when to take something off it. Toebe throws well on the run and does a good job squaring his shoulders towards his target. Toebe has deceptive speed and is a long strider who showed on tape that he can pull away from defenders.
Tyler Manske Tyler Manske 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Algona | 2022 State IA , 6’2, 180, Algona
Manske does a good job on tape of looking off safeties before throwing opposite of them. He calmly works through his progression and won’t get rattled with a defender in his face. He’s got a compact release, with no wasted motion behind it. Manske is a tough runner between the tackles and can provide value in the QB run game in short down situations. His ability to extend plays with his feet, with his eyes downfield, could be his best asset.
Tamin Lipsey, 6’2, 170, Ames
A talented hooper who also stars on the gridiron. Lipsey only played 5 games as a junior and still ended up producing over 2,000 yards of total offense. On tape, he can make defenders miss in the open field with explosive cuts that leave defenders in the dust. His arm strength throwing on the run is impressive, and Lipsey rarely makes wideouts slow down & wait for his ball. He’s got a little Johnny Manziel type feel to his game, as he can scramble around outside the pocket and force defenders to choose him or remain locked in on coverage.
Barrett Lindmark Barrett Lindmark 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Pleasant Valley | 2022 State IA , 5’10, 180, Pleasant Valley
I was really impressed with Barrett’s ability to transition his weight and drive the football downfield. He’s not overwhelming from a vertical stature standpoint, but the kid has a cannon behind him! To me, Barrett is one of the state’s best vertical ball throwers, based on his timing, accuracy, and sheer arm strength. The kid can literally play in any offensive system and will make a ton of game-changing plays for you. Don’t look at his height; look at his tape.
