Continue ReadingThe class of 2021 is a talented one in the state of Arkansas. However, a number of impressive players have flown under the radar up to this point. In this series of articles, we always examine four or five recruits that have flown under the radar but have the potential to take off at the next level. Every few weeks we will focus on a group of recruits from the class of 2021, 2022, or 2023 and give them the spotlight.
Jonathan Reyes Jonathan Reyes 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Maumelle | 2021 State AR , Quarterback-Maumelle
Reyes is an accurate passer that has the arm strength to fit the ball into tight coverage. Reyes threw 54 touchdowns for 4,728 passing yards. He throws the deep ball with accuracy and touch. Reyes does a good job of reading the coverages and going through his routes. Reyes’ recruiting has picked over the past few weeks with offers from Lyon College, University of the South, Kalamazoo College, and Iowa Wesleyan University. The school that lands Reyes is getting a quarterback that has a tremendous amount of potential and a quarterback not afraid to make the difficult throws.
Ty Goff Ty Goff 5'11" | 160 lbs | ATH Booneville | 2021 State AR , Athlete-Booneville
Goff has played both the running back and the quarterback positions for the Bearcats. Goff has displayed good burst and he is a nightmare for the opposing defense to account for when he is running the football. Booneville runs most of the offensive plays out of the flexbone. However, Goff can be lined up all over the field in the right system/In the right scheme, Goff would be successful at the running back or wide receiver spots at the next level. He has flown under the radar up to this point, but he is someone talented enough to see some action on Saturdays.
Houston Bryant Houston Bryant 6'2" | 165 lbs | WR Harmony Grove | 2021 State AR , Wide Receiver-Camden Harmony Grove
Bryant is an extremely versatile wide receiver. He is able to play a number of positions including the slot, the outside receiver, and he gets some work at the tight end position. Bryant’s route running is solid, especially when the routes take him across the middle of the field. He knows he is going to take a hit but still hauls in the reception. What I like the most when watching Bryant is that he will make the tough catch look easy and extend the drives. Bryant is another player with the potential to play on Saturdays, the right school simply needs to extend a scholarship offer.
Damarione Woodson Damarione Woodson 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Watson Chapel | 2021 State AR , Wide Receiver-Watson Chapel
Watson Chapel continues to produce talented football players and Damarione Woodson Damarione Woodson 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Watson Chapel | 2021 State AR fits that description well. Woodson is a deep threat on every pass play. He has the ability to take it to the end zone on every play. Woodson does a good job of creating separation and uses his shiftiness and speed well. He is not afraid to go over the middle and can be used effectively in the slot or at the outside receiver position. Woodson does a nice job of high pointing the football and he is a tough receiver for opposing defensive backs to cover.
Keystan Durning Keystan Durning 6'1" | 180 lbs | LB Ozark | 2021 State AR , Linebacker-Ozark
Keystan Durning Keystan Durning 6'1" | 180 lbs | LB Ozark | 2021 State AR is a player that has gone under the radar this season, despite having an excellent 2020 season. Durning has good speed and shoots the gaps well when he gets into the offensive backfield. He is an extremely disruptive player that can disrupt an opponent’s running game. Durning has good hands and he is not afraid to drop back into pass coverage. He is a player that has a good mix of speed and power. Durning has a willingness to play both sides of the ball, which makes him an attractive player to recruit that should not stay under the radar.
