Trinity Christian Coming Back For More In 2021

As the exciting final seconds ticked off the clock at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, veteran head coach <strong>Verlon Dorminey </strong>and his football team celebrated. As they jumped around in joy on a cool Tallahassee evening, many wondered if Jacksonville’s Trinity Christian, despite the loss of some key players would make it back? The path to another 3A state title for the 12-1 Conquerors will begin with the returning players, who had the chance to run a competitive gauntlet that included a 3-0 win against 5A state champion Plantation American Heritage. Among the Class of 2022 juniors scheduled to return for the 2021 season include: <strong>Deon Briggs</strong> (DL), <strong>Taye Brown</strong> (DB), <strong>J.T. Burke </strong>(DB), <strong>Tito Butler</strong> (FB), <strong>Bryce Capers </strong>(DL), explosive and talented <strong>Christian Ellis</strong> (DB/RB), <strong>Thomas Fryer</strong> (LB/RB), <strong>Johnathan Goddard</strong> (DL), <strong>Fred Highsmith</strong> (WR), <strong>L.J. Kelley </strong>(WR), <strong>Travis King</strong> (WR), <strong>Julian Moore</strong> (LB), <strong>Caden Morrell</strong> (LB), <strong>Runye Norton</strong> (WR), <strong>Xander Ross</strong> (WR), <strong>Harold Stubbs </strong>(DB) and <strong>Michael Trimble</strong> (OT). Class of 2023 sophomores <strong>Riley Bennett</strong> (LB), <strong>Seth Bialek</strong> (K/P), <strong>Dorean Cleveland</strong> (DL) and exciting <strong>Treyaun Webb</strong> (RB) will all have that extra year of playoff experience under their belt. Even the Class of 2024 freshmen – led by <strong>Cam Anderson</strong> (LB), <strong>Tyler Cline</strong> (OL), <strong>Elijah Crocker</strong> (RB), <strong>Micah George</strong> (OL/DL), <strong>Tyler Jackson</strong> (DB), <strong>Jaykob Jones</strong> (DB), <strong>Darrell Rogers</strong> (RB) and <strong>Nicholas Williams</strong> (DL) – will be promising and loaded with talent.
