As they jumped around in joy on a cool Tallahassee evening, many wondered if Jacksonville’s Trinity Christian, despite the loss of some key players would make it back? That answer is you know this team is always in the mix.
With a few student/athletes coming and going over the next eight months, here is a program that will truly be in the spotlight in 2021.
The path to another 3A state title for the 12-1 Conquerors will begin with the returning players, who had the chance to run a competitive gauntlet that included a 3-0 win against 5A state champion Plantation American Heritage.
Among the Class of 2022 juniors scheduled to return for the 2021 season include: Deon Briggs (DL), Taye Brown (DB), J.T. Burke (DB), Tito Butler (FB), Bryce Capers (DL), explosive and talented Christian Ellis (DB/RB), Thomas Fryer (LB/RB), Johnathan Goddard (DL), Fred Highsmith (WR), L.J. Kelley (WR), Travis King (WR), Julian Moore (LB), Caden Morrell (LB), Runye Norton (WR), Xander Ross (WR), Harold Stubbs (DB) and Michael Trimble (OT).
Class of 2023 sophomores Riley Bennett (LB), Seth Bialek (K/P), Dorean Cleveland (DL) and exciting Treyaun Webb (RB) will all have that extra year of playoff experience under their belt.
Even the Class of 2024 freshmen – led by Cam Anderson (LB), Tyler Cline (OL), Elijah Crocker (RB), Micah George (OL/DL), Tyler Jackson (DB), Jaykob Jones (DB), Darrell Rogers (RB) and Nicholas Williams (DL) – will be promising and loaded with talent. As will current 8th graders (Class of 2025) Evan Cannon (LB) and rising quarterback Colin Hurley.
