Matt Garatty, Phillipsburg: Garatty was effective at quarterback for a Phillipsburg offense that averaged 37.1 points per game. He threw for 1,050 yards and threw 14 touchdowns to two interceptions. Garatty also made things happen on the ground, finding the end zone five times on rushing scores. Phillipsburg finished the season with a 6-1 record.
Joe Barsky, Colts Neck: Barsky had no issues scoring throughout the season for 6-1 Colts Neck. He ran for 1,083 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season. He scored in every game and had some memorable performances. In a 42-7 victory over Freehold Township, Barsky found the end zone five times, rushing for 171 yards. He followed that with a 244-yard, three-touchdown outing against Manalapan.
Ali Lee Jr. Ali Lee Jr. 5'11" | ATH Woodbridge | 2021 State NJ , Woodbridge: Lee was a standout at running back for a state-ranked Woodbridge team that started the season 5-0 and finished with a 5-1 record. Lee carried for 1,161 yards and 14 touchdowns, also catching two TDs, finishing with a fumble recovery and two interceptions and returning a kickoff for a score.
Will Towns Will Towns 5'11" | RB Jackson Memorial | 2021 State NJ , Jackson Memorial: Towns, a Wake Forest commit, ran for 1,385 yards and 12 touchdowns, closing out his Jackson Memorial career with some incredible performances, including two games with 300-plus rushing yards. His season-long was a 78-yard run and he had seven games with 100-plus yards. Towns averaged 7.4 yards per carry.
Montez Boswell, Orange: Boswell was a two-way threat for Orange. He rushed for 1,259 yards and 12 touchdowns, and he made 54 tackles, a sack and forced a fumble on defense.
Sha’Kim Shuler, Freehold Borough: Shuler threw for 1,155 yards and eight touchdowns while also running for 1,206 yards and 15 touchdowns. On defense, Shuler had two interceptions and recovered two fumbles. He also had a kickoff return for a score.
Louce Julien Louce Julien 6'2" | DL Orange | 2021 State NJ , Orange: If you wanted an impact player on defense, look no further than Julien. In addition to a rushing score and four receiving TDs, Julien totaled 12 sacks, 33 tackles, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and an interception.
Al-Jay Henderson, Irvington: Henderson, a Buffalo commit, was incredible with 1,056 rushing yards and 15 rushing TDs. He ended the season with four straight 100-yard performances, including 237 yards and four scores against Randolph.
Luke Doerr-Fredrickson, West Morris: Doerr-Fredrickson was a standout player on defense for the 7-1 Wolfpack. He finished with 14 sacks on the season, setting the tone with four in the season-opening victory over Roxbury. He also had 49 tackles and two forced fumbles. On offense, Doerr-Fredrickson ran for 558 yards and seven TDs, finishing with 100 rushing yards twice.
