The Texans are led by senior quarterback Matthew Tippie who has 3,548 passing yards for 35 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. Tippie has had a career season to close out his time with Wimberley, which includes the time he threw a 99-yard touchdown bomb against Navarro. Tippie is a gunslinger who has yet to be stopped this season because even if his passing yards is low, he still scores two-three touchdowns. Given that Tippie is a commit to Angelina’s baseball team, it is no surprise that he can sling it downfield, and he will likely do so against Carthage.
Although it seems like Tippie has the ball 24/7, that is not the case as Wimberley has an excellent running game as well. Junior running back Moses Wray Moses Wray 5'11" | 215 lbs | RB Wimberley | 2022 State TX leads the charge on that front with 996 yards and 11 touchdowns. A large chunk of his rushing yards have come in the playoffs as he has rushed over 100 yards in each playoff game so far. Wimberley is an offensive powerhouse, almost like the Kansas City Chiefs of Texas UIL 4A, so although Tippie will be doing his thing, Wray will make a name for himself as well.
Senior wide receiver Ty Pruett Ty Pruett 6'1" | 170 lbs | ATH Cedar Creek | 2021 TX has been the beneficiary of Tippie’s gunslinging this season with 1,039 yards and 14 touchdowns. Not far behind him is senior Jaxon Watts, who has 860 yards and eight touchdowns. Any secondary will have trouble covering this duo given the stats alone. Plus, Wimberley has even more good talent that could explode at any minute like senior Christian Marshall Christian Marshall 6'3" | 170 lbs | ATH Wilmberley | 2021 TX and junior Nathan Simpson.
