For a select few, they chose to stay home and play in Fort Collins for the Colorado State Rams in the Mountain West Conference.
In total, the Rams got six players to sign for the early Signing Day period. A handful of other Colorado athletes have also announced their plans to join the Rams, whether potentially signing at a later date or joining as a walk-on to the program.
Six that signed with the Rams for Signing Day
Leading the group of six that signed with Colorado State is Palmer Ridge quarterback Luke McAllister Luke McAllister 6'4" | QB Palmer Ridge | 2021 State CO . He was committed to the Rams for an extended period of time and announced he will enroll early at CSU in January. The top-20 prospect in the state as determined by Prep Redzone Colorado led the Bears to the Class 4A state championship game this fall, completing 64 percent of his passes for 1,819 yards and 24 touchdowns in seven games.

The offense will see a boost with two more recruits joining from just up the road in Fort Collins. First is Justin Michael Justin Michael 6'5" | OL Poudre | 2021 State CO , the No. 4 ranked offensive lineman and No. 22 overall prospect in the Class of 2021 according to Prep Redzone Colorado. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound had a solid senior season for Poudre from the left tackle spot and was effective in both the run and pass game. The other offensive standout from Fort Collins to sign for early Signing Day is Fossil Ridge tight end Tanner Arkin Tanner Arkin 6'3" | TE Fossil Ridge | 2021 State CO , an athletic player at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds who is a willing blocker and can work the middle of the field. He caught nine passes for 132 yards and a touchdown in the 2020 fall season.
On the defensive side, Colorado State also found some solid local prospects to stay home and had three sign during the early signing period. Leading the trio is defensive lineman Clay Nanke Clay Nanke 6'6" | DL Regis Jesuit | 2021 State CO from Regis Jesuit. The 6-foot-6 defensive end had 46 tackles and three sacks to help them reach the Class 5A state playoffs. Another defensive lineman prospect joining the Rams is Mukendi Wa-Kalonji Mukendi Wa-Kalonji 6'5" | DL Grandview | 2021 State CO of Grandview, another prospect with great size and 6-foot-5 who plays physical up front. The final defensive prospect to sign was Eaglecrest defensive back Langston Williams Langston Williams 5'10" | DB Eaglecrest | 2021 State CO , a speedy player who has shown great ball instincts and could help return kicks in the special teams game as well.
Other commits to Colorado State
There were also a handful of athletes who announced their plans to join the Colorado State football program as well from the state.
One of the top small-school prospects in the state is Limon’s Kory Tacha Kory Tacha 6'1" | RB Limon | 2021 State CO . He led the Badgers to a third consecutive state championship win in Class 1A and was named the Class 1A Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. He rushed for 740 yards, had 97 receiving yards and scored 14 total touchdowns from his running back spot while recording 36 tackles from his linebacker position. Though he had offers from Division II schools including Colorado School of Mines, Tacha announced his plays to walk on at Colorado State after the state championship game.

Another running back/linebacker prospect choosing to join the Rams is Mason Veve Mason Veve 5'9" | RB Erie | 2021 State CO of Erie. Veve had 775 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in the 2020 season and also recorded 16 tackles and an interception on defense.
The other three recruits also announcing plans to join Colorado State are prospects from Class 5A. Andrew Kulick of Regis Jesuit is a versatile linebacker who recorded 59 tackles and two sacks this past fall, and he chose the Rams over multiple schools from the FCS and Division II level. Caden Dollar Caden Dollar 6'0" | LB Fossil Ridge | 2021 State CO is another linebacker joining the Rams. The Fossil Ridge prospect had 82 tackles and five sacks to anchor the defensive unit. Finally, the Rams got a pickup from the wide receiver spot in Poudre senior Duante Davis, a speedy wideout and return specialist who committed to the Rams last week.
