We’re now in the early stages of the national signing period, which means seniors have some tough decisions to make. Although it can be stressful for them; it is a time to celebrate their achievements as they get the opportunity to further their athletic and academic careers.
These are six seniors that recently have committed or signed to play at the Division I level.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="35356" first="Julius" last="Bolden"]</strong> – Wichita NW, 5’11”, 190, RB
Bolden is one of the Northwest seniors that signed his National Letter of Intent yesterday, as he announced he will be attending Northern Illinois University. Bolden ended his season with 1,454 yards rushing and scored 26 total touchdowns. The 5A All-State running back will be a nice addition to the Huskie’s backfield.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="49700" first="LaJames" last="White"] – </strong>St. James Academy – 5’9”, 175, RB
The 4A State Champion and member of the 4A All-State Team announced that he has signed to play for the U.S. Air Force Academy. James joined the Thunder after transferring from Piper and made an immediate impact. He rushed for 1,513 yards and added 585 yards receiving with 32 total touchdowns. Air Force is adding a very versatile back to their run-heavy offense.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="35350" first="Christien" last="Hawks"] – </strong>Norton, 6’5”, 262, OT
One of the top offensive tackles in the state will be teaming up with [player_tooltip player_id="49700" first="LaJames" last="White"], as the Norton product has also signed his National Letter of Intent with the U.S. Air Force Academy. Christien’s performance his senior season earned him a selection to the 2A All-State Team. His physicality will fit right in with their offensive-line.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="35357" first="Zac" last="Daher"] – </strong>Wichita NW, 6’4”, 245, DE
Daher joined [player_tooltip player_id="35356" first="Julius" last="Bolden"] at Wichita Northwest’s early signing day. He made his commitment to play and serve at West Point official, as he inked his National Letter of Intent. Daher is good at causing disruption off the edge. He racked up 43 total tackles, 13 being for a lass, and 4 sacks this season. The Black Knights are getting a strong defensive-linemen that can move around on the line.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="49691" first="Dawson" last="Harrington"] – </strong>Olathe South, 6’7”, 280, OT
Harrington made the announcement that he is signing to Stetson University. The Olathe South product earned 2<sup>nd </sup>Team Offensive-Line All Sunflower League Honors with his play this season. His strength and size should be able to make an impact on the Hatter’s offense-line day one.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="35493" first="Braden" last="Rucker"] – </strong>Eureka<strong>, </strong>6’3”, 245, OT
Rucker inked his National Letter of Intent, making his commitment to North Dakota State University official. Rucker has the ability to play either side of the ball for the Bison, as he was named to the 2A All-State Team for offensive and defensive line. His strength and athleticism could make an immediate impact his freshmen season.
