7A Football: Round 3 Match Ups To Look Forward To

While some of our predictions may not have gone as planned last week, one great thing that did come out of it was the new match-ups that we will see in the third round of the playoffs. As the playoffs are slowly winding down over the coming weeks throughout the state of Georgia, we are excited to see some of the top teams in the state square off against each other with everything on the line. Even though teams like North Gwinnett, and Denmark barely missed the third round, we are still very excited to see where these playoffs take some of the other teams in competition. With this, we are also excited for 3 specific games this week. To start, one of the games we are most excited to see is Norcross vs Colquitt County. While Colquitt County has been an evident powerhouse throughout this season, we do feel that Norcross has started to come into its own as of late. The Blue Devils have the likes of Mason Kaplan, and Trey Goodman, who have been offensive studs, and Josh Graham and [player_tooltip player_id="33755" first="Jalen" last="Garner"] who have been very effective for their defense. While we ultimately expect Colquitt to pull of the win, we also believe that Norcross will give it some of its stiffest competition to this point of the season. Another game that will be very fun to watch will be Lowndes vs. Milton. While many expect Lowndes to come away with this game, the underrated factor of Milton’s defense in this match up should be given the proper attention. Players such as [player_tooltip player_id="71313" first="Lebbeus" last="Overton"], as well as the rest of the defensive line, have held each of the teams they have faced in the playoffs to limited points. To be specific, they have not allowed more than 14 points so far during the playoffs. While Lowndes has shown to be an explosive offense, Milton may prove to be one of their biggest points of competition so far. A key for Milton in this game will be to limit [player_tooltip player_id="33889" first="Jacurri" last="Brown"]’s overall success, and ability to use his legs. If they can do this, they will have a chance to hang around in this game. Perhaps, the game we are looking forward to the most this week will be Collins Hill vs Parkview. What is not to like about this match up. Not only will there be top ranked prospects in this match up, but there will also be offensive and defensive battles. This game will feature the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="33667" first="Cody" last="Brown"], [player_tooltip player_id="33743" first="Quincy" last="Bryant"], [player_tooltip player_id="33861" first="Travis" last="Hunter"], [player_tooltip player_id="33893" first="Sam" last="Horn"], and Jaxon Curtis. Ultimately, whoever wins this match up will go on to play Lowndes or Milton, and will see themselves in the semifinals. That in itself is exciting enough.
