Mario Thomas- Lafayette
5’9 195lbs
Thomas had an outstanding junior season for Lafayette High this year, he had over 2,000 total yards from scrimmage, he’s a swiss army knife player with quick cutting ability and vision that they use at quarterback, but I think he’ll end up translating to running back at the next level. He led 1A Region 3 in rushing with 1106 yards and 13. touchdowns.

Cade Vaughn- Union County
5’7 160lbs
Von comes in at second on the list with 877 yards and six touchdowns. This was his first year carrying load for Union County and he produced in a big way, he rushed for 242 yards against Hamilton County earlier this season. He’s a scatback that has excellent fit in the hole in Vision, also runs with power for his size it shows the ability to cut back out towards the numbers and pick up chunks of yards.

Robert Hiers- Madison County

Tires rushed for 865 yards and six touchdowns this season. He’s a fantastic next level running back prospect that has over 3100 yards rushing in his high school career. He shows good stop-and-start ability and has the speed to break long runs. He’s also a very good run blocker.

Covey is a nice sophomore prospect that teamed up with Vaughn this season to form one of the best 1-2 punch in 1A class. He rush for 734 yards and nine touchdowns on the season. Gilyard is a nice Junior prospect that rounds out the list was 598 yards and seven touchdowns this season, he also chipped in with 18 tackles on defense. Gilyard is a one-cut runner that plants his foot and gets up field in a hurry, has the ability to break tackles and shows good balance. Also shows another gear in the open field.
