No matter what class they may be in – this is time of year that they will be looking for publicity and exposure.
With the season winding down throughout the country, it will soon be the off-season that didn’t happen this past year – and ended up costing many football players valuable exposure.
During the off-season, NOBODY will provide the information on all prospects.
While we will run our list for the top players in the classes, there are so many athletes that people just do not see – and from our camp, combine and 7-on-7 visits, we will be able to uncover athletes that many have never heard about.
Also, there are current seniors who didn’t get the looks they deserved – and obviously – the pandemic had everything to do with it.
We hope you enjoy our coverage of all Florida high school football year-round.
THE BLAZEK FILE
NAME: Colin Blazek
CLASS: 2021
SCHOOL: Venice
POSITION: QB
HEIGHT: 6-3
WEIGHT: 195
THE SCOOP: The offers have been Miami (Ohio) and Wisconsin Platteville for the “pilot” of the No. 1 offense in the state of Florida.
It is evident that not enough coaches had the chance to really see this young man play. If they had, there is no way they couldn’t be bowled over by this quality talent who more than turned heads all season.
We all know that he arrived late from Illinois, when the state moved the football season until the spring. We also understand that it took him a game or two to really feel comfortable.
Remember, this is a first-year senior who can make all the throws and added balance to an offense that was extremely tough to stop – even when the Indians lost.
Watching him play three times live this season, there is no getting around that he was one of the elite players in the state. Certainly worth of a look from one of the many colleges and universities we have here in Florida.
Everyone who played against him all sang his praises as a tough competitor “who will change the fortunes of some school – in the immediate future.”
When told by head coach John Peacock during the summer “that he may be better off transferring to another school”. Blazek didn’t listen, and everyone is happy he didn’t.
By the end of the season, Peacock and others were calling this standout “the best quarterback in the area.”
This year, his first in Florida, Blazek was 191 of 340 for 2,646 yards, 27 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.
The Indians came within one game of playing for the 7A state title.
