Willingboro made the 96-mile trip up to Ramapo in a game that wouldn’t likely be played in a normal season.
Both teams had an opening this week and scheduled the unique matchup. Willingboro made a stop on Ramapo’s two-point conversion attempt on the final play to pull off the big victory and improve to 2-2.
Ramapo dropped to 3-2 on the season. Let’s take a look at the winners from Saturday’s thriller.
Ah-Shaun Davis Ah-Shaun Davis 6'2" | QB Willingboro | 2021 State NJ , Willingboro: Davis, the team’s quarterback, scored on a pair of runs. He threw for 125 yards and found the end zone on runs of 1 and 2 yards.
Bryson Bright Bryson Bright 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Willingboro | 2022 NJ , Willingboro: Bright received the bulk of the carries in Saturday’s victory, rushing for 99 yards on 14 carries. He scored on a two-point conversion that put Willingboro on top in the fourth quarter. A fumble led to a 26-yard run by Bright, and then Davis scored on a 2-yard run. Bright’s two-point conversion run gave Willingboro a 14-13 advantage with under eight minutes remaining.
Nasir Abney, Willingboro: Abney’s 18-yard TD run gave Willingboro a 20-13 advantage in the fourth quarter. He finished with 49 yards on nine carries.
Naseem Greshan, Willingboro: Greshan made three catches for 81 yards and had two interceptions on defense.
Willingboro Defense: The Willingboro defense forced five turnovers overall, with four interceptions. In addition to Greshan’s defensive play with two interceptions, Demie Sumo Demie Sumo 6'0" | RB Willingboro | 2021 State NJ and Daniel Doegan also came away with picks. Isaiah Worrell had great coverage on Ramapo’s two-point attempt with the game on the line on the final play.
Richie Sica, Ramapo: Sica ran for 46 yards and caught a 7-yard TD pass from Ramapo quarterback Charles DePrima Charles DePrima 6'2" | QB Ramapo | 2021 State NJ in the first quarter.
John Skead, Ramapo: Skead made a 10-yard TD as time expired in Ramapo’s one-point loss on Saturday. While the game appeared as if it would go to overtime, Ramapo decided to roll the dice on a two-point attempt, but Willingboro made the necessary stop.
