On Friday night, head coach Chris Toukonen and the Bears rolled to their sixth straight win this season and captured a first Gulf Coast championship.
This team has been getting it done in dominating fashion all season – with a number of prospects stepping up to make a huge impact.
Among those offensive prospects making a difference include:
Senior receiver Malique Dieudonne, running back Jaden Booker, tight end Caleb Cousins, quarterback Evan Rodriguez, lineman Braden Poling, lineman Ricardo Garcia, tight end Robert Summers, running back Qidrian Elismond and standout receiver Kamonte Grimes Kamonte Grimes 6'3" | 205 lbs | WR Naples Palmetto Ridge | 2021 State FL .
On defense, safety Jhordan Inniss, safety Sam Pierre, linebacker Zack Bragg, linebacker Payton Wood, linebacker Jean Perez and defensive back Brennan Van Hoecke.
Junior running back Jaylon Glover Jaylon Glover 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Lakeland Lake Gibson | 2022 State FL , who scored two touchdowns on runs of 7 and 22 yards, finished with 102 yards, rushing on 16 carries as Lakeland Lake Gibson rolled to their sixth win. He now has 978 rushing yards on the season with 18 touchdowns.
Quarterback Lin Johnson Lin Johnson QB Bartow | 2022 FL completed 15 of 22 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown with one interception in a 41-33 win over Winter Haven, keeping Bartow unbeaten.
R J Cabrera passed for three touchdowns on 10 completions and 157 yards as Fort Meade beat Mulberry.
Malichi Lowery Malichi Lowery 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Auburndale | 2021 FL recovered a muffed punt and ran down the sidelines to complete a 80-yard touchdown.and running back Anthony Alls led the way with 170 yards and two touchdowns for Auburndale in a win over Jensen Beach.
Lakeland Christian used junior cornerback Blake Tyson’s fumble recovery and score and the passing of senior quarterback Elijah Hunter in a 33-0 win over Sarasota Cardinal Mooney.
Winter Haven All Saints senior running back Zay Mathis rushed for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and caught another touchdown pass from quarterback Andy Paul in a 42-12 win over St. Petersburg Shorecrest.
A.J. Jones ran for 163 yards to lead Bartram Trail to a 28-13 win over Jacksonville Sandalwood.
Gainesville Buchholz running back Quandarius Smith had 123 yards and 3 TDs in a win over St. Johns Creekside.
Gainesville Eastside HC Alex Deleon picked up his first win with the program and snapping the Rams’ 11-game losing streak that dates back to last season in a win over Santa Fe.
Jacksonville Mandarin senior quarterback Tre Lawrence threw 12 of 18 complete passes and no interceptions for 168 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-12 win over Ed White.
Jacksonville Lee senior Jai Robinson scored a receiving touchdown on the first play of scrimmage, contributed two of the team’s seven sacks, and had a punted for 52 yards in a 29-3 win over Gainesville.
Green Cove Springs Clay standout Al’Querious Ray ran for 200 yards and five touchdowns in a 63-27 win over Orange Park Ridgeview. Clay is 7-0!
Jacksonville Trinity senior DB Corey Coley intercepted a pass and junior DB Christian Ellis had a fumble recovery in a 21-0 win over Raines.
Antwon McCrae scored a touchdown and Jonathan Salvador-Cano delivered two key field goals as the Jacksonville Westside held off Jacksonville Terry Parker. Dominique Alexander rushed for a Westside touchdown.
Conner Nobles rushed for two touchdowns as West Nassau beat Jacksonville Andrew Jackson, 24-12. Brady Wright also scored a touchdown.
Gregory Washington returned an interception for a touchdown and Baldwin rallied from a halftime hole to stay perfect (7-0) in a 22-17 win over Yulee.
Cam Smith and Carson Crawford each scored three touchdowns, helping Baker County roll over Jacksonville Bishop Kenny, 49-7.
Ethan Dattilio threw four first-half touchdown passes as St. Augustine Menendez .rolled to a 41-6 win over Jacksonville Englewood.
Orel Grey scored three rushing touchdowns and a kickoff return as Jacksonville University Christian beat Crescent City, 69-22.
With a number of recruiting services and media watching, Miami Killian senior Jermaine Hawkins caught seven back for 185 yards and 4 TDs in a win.
Junior running back Ershod Jasey II rushed for 4 touchdowns to lead Jacksonville Episcopal to a win over Paxon.
D.J. Coston ignited the offense with an early touchdown rush as Hilliard (7-0) rolled over Halifax Academy, 50-6.
Jacksonville Christ Church linebackers Andrew Partyka and Lee Setzer contributed offensive touchdowns as the Eagles remained unbeaten.
Marcus Peterson threw three fourth-quarter touchdown passes and made the game-clinching interception on defense to lead Lake City Columbia over North Miami Beach.
Manny Covey rushed for three touchdowns and Cortez Slocum scored on an interception return for Union County in a 42-7 win.
Coconut Creek Monarch RB Jerrell Mash ran for 179 yards and 4 TDs in an opening night win over Coral Springs Taravella.
Englewood Lemon Bay RB Jason Hogan Jason Hogan 6'1" | 165 lbs | RB Lemon Bay | 2022 FL just finished the regular season, scoring two more touchdowns and running for 172 yards in a win. His team is 7-1 and he has scored 20 times and has 1,219 yards rushing, heading into the playoffs.
Mitchell QB Ezra Brennan was 15 of 21 for 260 yards, 5 TD in a win. This is Brennan’s second game in a row with 5 TD passes.
Miami Sunset senior RB Rayshawn Williams, ran for 176 yards and three scores as the Knights won.
Miami Carol City sophomore WR Santana Fleming, who was spotlighted last week in the loss to Miami Norland, once again put it into high gear – with six catches, over 100 yards and 3 scores in a win at Port Charlotte.
St. Petersburg Lakewood senior defensive end Jeremiah Morris led the way (six tackles, two sacks and three more tackles for loss) in a win over Largo.
Mitchell WR/LB Jonathan Fairbank had a team-high 129 yards, 6 receptions, 3 TD in a win. This season, he has 342 yards, 19 receptions, 5 TD, 2 rushing TD. On defense: 40 total tackles, 25 solo, 12.0 TFL, 2.5 sacks, INT return for TD.
Tallahassee Rickards QB Mike Townsend plunged up the middle for the game-winning touchdown on a 2-yard sneak with 2:29 remaining in the game in a win over Leon.
Boca Raton Olympic Heights WR K’ameronn Joseph had 163 yards and 2 TDs in an opening day win.
Junior CB Quentin Hatch Winter Garden West Orange had 13 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 pass break ups in a win.
Miami Killian QB Khalil Anglin threw for 300 yards and 5 TDs in a win over Miami Norland.
Glades Central junior QB Zo’Marion Harper completed 21 passes for 417 yards and a TD in a win.
