Jacksonville Lee Made Believers All Year
In this article:
When Jacksonville Lee lost a second round playoff game on Friday night against Pace High, it was deemed as a surprise.
This was a team that had gone into the contest as favorites to give this thing a solid run.
While falling short to the 5-3 Patriots from the Pensacola area was tough, it did show how far this Lee program has come. In fact, it’s a trend that is playing out throughout the region.
You can see it all over Jacksonville. It is something that is starting to happen every year.
Long reserved for the private schools of the area to make a statement at the state level, you can see how the public programs are beginning to make some noise in the area.
Just two years ago, it was Mandarin. Raines and Ribault as well. It’s been First Coast, Fletcher and Andrew Jackson as well.
So, it was only a matter of time that other programs – like Lee, which has been producing talent for decades, to start making some noise as well.
Loaded with quality players and outstanding coaching, here is yet another team that has been able to turn some heads toward the First Coast region of Florida.
HOW THIS SEASON WENT
The season came to an end against Pace – and the Generals also lost a 14-6 game to 3A power Jacksonville Trinity Christian. But this was a year that certainly showcased plenty of talent and leadership.
The wins came against Jacksonville Ribault (26-18), Jacksonville Mandarin (25-20), Middleburg (54-8), Lake City Columbia (38-21), Gainesville (29-3) and Fort Walton Beach (41-6).
