Week three of the regular season is in the books and just like that, we’re at the halfway mark. Several players across the area had huge nights, helping their teams separate themselves in the OK-Conference races. Let’s get into who impressed the most in week three.
<h6>[player_tooltip player_id="29700" first="Carson" last="Gulker"], QB, Zeeland West</h6>
Gulker showed why he’s one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the area as he rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another two scores in Zeeland West’s 34-14 win over rival Zeeland East. The Dux sit tied atop the OK Green at 3-0 with Muskegon Mona Shores.
<h6>[player_tooltip player_id="29824" first="Brady" last="Rose"], QB, Mona Shores</h6>
Rose put on another dazzling performance, scoring touchdowns in five different ways in only a quarter of action during Mona Shores’ 56-7 win over Holland. The senior playmaker threw a 63-yard touchdown pass, caught a 70-yard touchdown pass, ran back a punt for a 54-yard touchdown, and housed 45-yard pick-six. Mona Shores and Zeeland West are on a collision course to meet for the OK Green crown in week six.
<h6>[player_tooltip player_id="30214" first="Joey" last="Silveri"], QB, Grand Rapids Catholic Central</h6>
Silveri completed 7 of 8 passes for 184 yards and four touchdowns and gained 114 rushing yards and another touchdown on the ground in the Cougar’s 42-28 win over Cedar Springs. Catholic Central and South Christian sit tied atop the OK Gold at 3-0.
<h6>[player_tooltip player_id="29894" first="Tommy" last="Gregwer"], WR, Grandville</h6>
Gregwer hauled in four receptions for 107 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown reception in Grandville’s 21-17 win over Hudsonville. Grandville and Rockford sit tied atop the OK Red at 3-0.
<h6>[player_tooltip player_id="54849" first="Sawyer" last="Wychers"], RB/DB, Byron Center</h6>
Wychers led the Bulldogs with two rushing touchdowns and an interception on defense to help Byron Center defeat Forest Hills Central 35-14. Byron Center and Lowell sit tied atop the OK White at 3-0.
<h6>Nathaniel Clark, RB, Lowell</h6>
Clark rushed 7 times for 128 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns in Lowell’s 56-7 win over Grandville.
<h6>Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Forest Hills Northern</h6>
Chambliss completed 11 for 199 passes for 98 yards and a score and rushed 15 times for 71 yards in the Huskies 22-0 win over Grand Rapids Christian.
<h6>Tommy Stevens, QB, Grand Rapids Union</h6>
Stevens accounted for six touchdowns - four passing and two rushing in Unions 59-57 win over Wyoming. The win ended Union’s 45-game losing streak.
<h6>Scharai Horton, QB, Ottawa Hills</h6>
Horton completed 9 of 15 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown and rushed 10 times for 101 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Bengals 51-24 loss to South Christian.
<h6>Lukas Kuiper, QB, Allendale</h6>
Kuiper completed 7 of 12 passes for 237 yards and four touchdowns in Allendale’s 45-22 win over Fruitport. Allendale and Unity Christian are tied at 3-0 for first place in the OK Blue.
<h6>Josh Gunneson, WR, Allendale</h6>
Gunneson hauled in six receptions for 158 yards and four touchdowns.
<h6>[player_tooltip player_id="29776" first="Malekhi" last="Obande"], RB, Unity Christian</h6>
Obande ran 10 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Crusaders to a 44-7 win over Coopersville.
<h6>[player_tooltip player_id="29780" first="Tyler" last="Stezowski"], RB, Hamilton</h6>
Stezowski ran the ball 15 times for 169 yards and three touchdowns in Hamilton’s 28-22 win over Holland Christian. Stezowski also had an 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
