Niceville Continues To Showcase Talent
For those who understand the landscape of football in Florida, if you are a Panhandle team, you have to fight extra hard for recognition and a share of the recruiting spotlight.
Because of the difference in time and travel, it’s the Panhandle region, west from Tallahassee to Pensacola, where the only way you can get any real attention – from recruiters and the media – is to get to the state title game, and as Pensacola Escambia found out as an unbeaten program, there is no guarantee that you will get the attention unless you win it all. The Gators were beaten by Miami Central in the 6A state final.
For Niceville, there is a reputation of being to the state title game and playing consistent football each and every year.
With coaching changes and players starting to emerge, here is a program that has a shot here in 2020 to make some noise in a crowded northern 7A talent pool.
With a tremendous mix of veteran players with some quality youth, this is a team to keep your eye on throughout November and into December.
In getting to 5-0, the Eagles cruised over Fort Walton Beach Choctawhatchee (56-0), Fort Walton Beach (49-14), Crestview (56-14), Lynn Haven Mosley (45-0) and Pensacola Catholic (35-0).
