Morse running back undecided but has a date in mind
Byron Cardwell Byron Cardwell 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Morse | 2021 State CA , the top running back in California’s class of 2021, has six schools he is taking the most seriously, but hasn’t made an official list.
The Morse running back told Brandon Huffman of 247Sports that Cal, Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC have stood out and he has been in frequent contact with them.
Cardwell talks to each of those schools regularly, but has been seen on Twitter conversing with UCLA coach and former NFL running back Deshaun Foster.
“I’m in group chat with the UCLA coaches and I talk with coach Foster, coach (Ethan) Young and coach (Chip) Kelly once a week,” Cardwell told Huffman. “And I talk to coach (Justin) Frye too, I talk with him usually when we do Zooms, once a month. I’ve been to the UCLA campus and I went on an unofficial last year and I went to the Oklahoma game.”
All six programs have their head coaches personally involved in the attempt to recruit Cardwell.
He will announce his decision on January 25th and will sign during the second signing period. Cardwell will play his senior season at Morse and will not enroll early at whichever college he chooses.

San Diego defensive lineman has list of six
Mandela Tobin Mandela Tobin 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL Westview | 2021 State CA (Westview) has narrowed his list of schools to six.
He originally had a list of five but Duke recently offered the 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive lineman and made its way onto the list.
Tobin’s list consists of: Duke, Fresno State, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska and Nevada.
“I definitely have the best relationship with the Kansas and Nebraska coaching staff.,” Tobin told Huffman. “Fresno State and Nevada have been very nice as well and like I said, I’m just getting to know Duke.”
Tobin will not commit until the dead period is over and he is able to take more visits.
“With the recent NCAA dead period ruling, I have to commit next year because my family and I thought it was too much of a risk to commit without any visits,” Tobin said.
