Best Games in North Dakota This Weekend: Who to Watch

Best Games in North Dakota This Weekend: Who to Watch

NORTH DAKOTA-- These are the top four games in Prep Redzone Dakotas eyes to watch this weekend in North Dakota. Whether you head out to a game, stream online, or watch the game from a distance. We'll go over players to watch on each team, the schedules, and more! Fargo Davies (5-0) at West Fargo Sheyenne (4-0) This game features the last two unbeaten teams from Fargo. Who will be the last man standing in Fargo? West Fargo will depend on their downhill running back in NDSU commit [player_tooltip player_id="56234" first="Barika" last="Kpeenu"] to carry the load offensively for the Mustangs. The Eagles have a Bison of their own in Truman Werremeyer, our #1 overall fullback prospect the entire Dakotas have to offer. [player_tooltip player_id="56266" first="Ethan" last="Entze"] is a nice slot back and very effective in the return game and holds some Division II offers along with QB1 [player_tooltip player_id="56251" first="Reid" last="Hartness"], who is I think is an underappreciated talent that has flawless arm strength but somehow is only getting recruited at Division II level. The Mustangs have had, in my opinion, the tougher schedule thus far, and if they can get by Davies, they have a great chance to finish their season undefeated. As for Davies, their season will end with two teams combined 9-1 right now, with the other one being Fargo Shanley. Grant County/Flasher (5-1) at Kidder County (6-0) Kidder County, last year’s 9 man champions, have had the fire in their belly and their eyes on a repeat again this season. The Pirates have a dominating rushing attack that starts with the senior leader at QB in Jonah Harter. They're junior to watch? Remember the name Wyatt Miller, who is averaging near 20 yards per carry with the football in his hands. The Pirates offense is outstanding, logging over 40 points in four of their six ball games and have put up 60+ twice this season. As for the Storm, they are lead by running back Connor Ottmar, who is a great slasher and can cut up the field pretty quickly. On defense for the Storm, I am a fan of DE Isaiah Cook, who is built like a mid-sized SUV that can eat up the pocket and is a threat offensively in the Redzone, creating as he gives me "Fridge" type vibes from the 1985 Bears with his play inside the 5. May-Port-CG (6-0) at Lamoure-Litchfield-Marion (7-0) Guess how many points the Loboes of LLM have put up in the last three weeks? Over 200 points have been scored with three straight weeks. What's even more impressive is their score differential being at a lopsided 186. The connection between QB Corban Potts (2021) and TE Colton Ness (2023) has been on nothing but point this season. On the defensive side of the ball, a player to watch is Charlie Bowman, who has some length and is also one of Pott's other targets for the Loboes. For the Mayport-CG Patriots, the man who runs the show is QB/DB, Sawyer Satrom (2021). Satrom has nearly 800 yards of the Patriots offense over the last two games. Watching his firm, Satrom is a such a mismatch to tackle with his great size and ability to make one cut and throw the defense in places they want to be: the end zone. I am a big fan of Satrom's physicality on plenty of draw plays for the Patriots. It's a good thing Satrom plays HS football in a college football stadium every home game in Mayville! St. John (6-1) at North Border (4-1) After six straight games of mostly lopsided victory, the Woodchucks took one to the chin, getting shutout against Cavalier last week with who they have struggled with in the last couple years. A player to watch on defense for the Woodchucks is Jayton Slater (2022), who defines the term nose guard in the middle of the Chucks defensive line. This kid is long and big at 6'2 270 and clogs up the running lanes pretty easily and has good length to get a tackle you wouldn't expect. Another standout to expect on the Woodchucks defense will be Weston Enno (2023), who isn't the fastest player on the field, but man, can he hit if he has some momentum! For the North Border Eagles, they feature Kyler Moore (2022), who is a player to watch and uses his acceleration to make a moment type hit wherever he lines up on the football field. Another player I watched on tape that I was impressed with that I had watched a while ago was Jaxen Johnson (2022), a kid who will dive for any football that comes his way. Something I love about this Eagles team is how physical they are, as Johnson is another kid that can lay the wood!
