The 2020 season is in full swing across the state of Oklahoma. And while the season gets going, recruiting is as important as ever. As of right now, Oklahoma’s 2021 class has 30 prospects currently committed. On Tuesday night, Holland Hall’s Owen Ostroski Owen Ostroski 6'3" | DL Holland Hall | 2021 State OK committed to Army. The 2021 class appears to be deep, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Every Wednesday, we’ll spotlight five prospects that are still deciding their college futures.

We came into the 2020 season wondering what kind of growth Kingfisher’s

would show at the quarterback position. But instead, we’ve seen him transform into one of the better athletes in Class 3A. Kingfisher has moved Stephenson to running back, where he shined immediately. He’s also had an impact in special teams as a return guy. We like what Kingfisher has done where they’ve put arguably their best athlete in a position where he can make plays. However, we still like what Stephenson can do on the defensive side of the ball and feel like he projects more to that side. Stephenson is a hard-hitting safety that has shown he has an unbelievable athletic ability as a running back. We really liked Stephenson’s versatility coming into the season but with him moving around, we like it even more now.

Out of the five prospects on this week’s spotlight, here’s the player who has been the most productive this season. Meeker’s

is an absolute bruiser of a player. He plays the game the same on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. He’s one of the state’s leading rushers this year on offense and on defense, he’s near the top of the charts in sacks. For us, we think the natural spot for Wolford at the next level is on defense as a linebacker. However, you can’t argue with his productivity as a running back. And it’s not just this year. Wolford has been one of the more productive players on both sides of the ball for the last several seasons. Wolford had at least 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns in both his sophomore and junior seasons. But he’s really starting to hit his stride on the defensive side of the ball this year.

– Linebacker – El Reno
It hasn’t been the start that they were hoping for but El Reno remains one of the better teams in Class 5A. The 1-2 start is partly attributed to some injuries that El Reno has suffered. However, one of the bright spots in the first few weeks has been from senior linebacker

. We knew he would be the leader of this experienced El Reno defense coming into the season and he’s lived up to that and then some. Moore is a dynamic athlete at the linebacker position. Oklahoma’s linebacker prospects this year is very deep and Moore is near the top of the list. He’s very athletic, he’s a four-year starter and he loves to play physical football. Just throw on the tape and it’s evident right away that Moore has the ability to be a very dominant linebacker at the next level. As El Reno gets healthy and back in the win column, more headlines will come.

– Running Back – Edison
I think we speak for everyone when we mention how we’re really sick of Covid-19. We’ve had some big games cancelled this week. One of them featured this prospect as Edison was set to host a very strong Booker T Washington team. This was going to be a perfect measuring stick game for not only Edison, but to see where

stood as a serious running back prospect in this class. We think he’s outstanding but we wanted to see it against a very good Hornet defense. Thompson is off to a great start to his senior season. He absolutely torched rival Memorial in last week’s rivalry win over the Chargers. Thompson was a dynamic player in the running game and catching passes out of the backfield. Once the Eagles and Thompson get back on the field, they’ll be a must-watch team for college coaches.

from running back to quarterback going into the 2020 season. Smith is arguably Del City’s most potent athlete and they have been able to showcase his skills brilliantly early on this season. Smith is not going to be a quarterback at the next level. But he should be playing at the next level. He does an excellent job at reading the defense and finding the weak spot to take advantage. And when it comes to speed, there are not many athletes in Oklahoma that will be able to catch Smith in the open field. He had a really strong junior season as a running back and that could end up being where Smith plays at the next level. We don’t want to overlook what he can do on defense as well. Although he’s not being asked to play as much this season.
