Escambia Looking To Build On 2019 Season
Coming into the 2019 6A state title game against Miami Central, head coach Mike Bennett and his football team felt great about their chances of playing with the Rockets, and for the most part, this team did plenty on the offensive side of the ball.
Scoring 27 points and putting up over 400 yards would win most games, but the Gators’ defense couldn’t stop the high powered Rockets, who ran for nearly 500 yards and scored 62 points.
As the Gators come back for the 2020 season, there is plenty of talent – and a much improved defense, which could land them back in the state title game once again this coming season.
Is there enough talent for another unbeaten regular season? Coach Bennett and the Gators believe there is.
