This is why highlighting players who are difficult to classify in one position is so important. Being a versatile athlete only increases the stock value of a potential prospect. Below is a list of six players who check multiple boxes for multiple positions.
Ben Finneseth Ben Finneseth 6'2" | DB Durango | 2021 State CO – DB|OLB|WR – Durango – 2021
Finneseth’s size makes him an instant standout. The 6-foot-2, 200lbs athlete has the build of a Division I player already. On the defensive side of the field, he plays like a run-stopping box safety or outside linebacker with strong coverage skills. When watching his film, you see a player who forces turnovers and delivers devastating hits. His athleticism can also be seen on offense as a receiver with his strong route-running skills and great hands. Finneseth is, without a doubt, a player worth getting to know.
Vann Schield Vann Schield 6'0" | 195 lbs | WR Rock Canyon | 2021 State CO – RB|WR|DB – Rock Canyon – 2021
At 6-foot-1 and 190lbs, Schield is one of the top athletes in the program. His route-running skills, mixed with his ability to track the ball, make him an ideal addition to any passing scheme. Schield is an explosive player with great vision and amazing instincts, talents that are easily seen whenever he is on the field. This underrated player is a true sleeper.
Keenan Stokes Keenan Stokes 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Chaparral | 2022 State CO – OLB|TE – Chapparal – 2022
Stokes is another player with great size and athleticism. At 6-foot-1 and 205lbs, he is an ideal prospect to fill a role on either side of the ball. He is a hard-hitting edge rusher who also plays well in coverage. As a receiver, Stokes is tough to cover because of his size and strength. He is a very physical player, which only adds to his rising stock value. Stokes is definitely a player to watch.
Anthony Costanzo Anthony Costanzo 6'3" | 210 lbs | ATH Palmer Ridge | 2022 State CO – WR|DB – Palmer Ridge – 2022
This 6-foot-3 and 205lbs player has elite potential, especially at wide receiver. His size makes him a QB’s dream target, while his speed and catch radius can make him a defense’s nightmare. His football instincts and his ability to track the ball make him a danger whenever the ball is in the air. In addition to being a phenomenal receiver, Costanzo is also a ball-hawking safety. It would be wise to remember the name.
Keyshawn Dooley Keyshawn Dooley 5'8" | 155 lbs | WR Vista Ridge | 2023 State CO – DB|WR – Vista Ridge – 2023
Dooley may be a young player, but he is a definite sleeper. This 5-foot-7, 140lbs athlete is another playmaker, especially as a corner. Dooley is patient and methodical with a keen sense of awareness whenever in coverage. He has great focus and plays through the catch to cause pass breakups. His explosive athleticism is what also helps to make him a dangerous slot receiver. Dooley is a must-watch player; it would be wise to keep an eye on him.
Brandon Hills Brandon Hills 5'9" | 150 lbs | WR Vista Ridge | 2023 State CO – WR|DB – Vista Ridge – 2023
Hills, more commonly known as Bebe, is an athlete with an extremely high ceiling. At 5-foot-8 and 145lbs, Hills possesses a playmaking ability like no other. Offensively, he is the type of player that defensives must key in on at all times. On defense, his athleticism allows him to line up at corner or safety and make a play on the ball. Don’t just add his name to your watchlist; engrave it onto your recruiting board.
