There are some talented young players who will make their debut on their varsity football teams this season. They have developed their skill sets and are prepared mentally for the challenge. They will either compete for a starting position or earn a significant amount of playing time throughout the season.
- Aliam Appler Aliam Appler 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Dutch Fork | 2023 State SC , QB, 6’,4”, 190. New Hanover HS – Aliam is a tall QB with a strong arm and shows poise in the pocket. He will tuck it and run when necessary to prevent a sack. Aliam is projected to lead a high-powered offense.
- Carter Revelle, QB, 6’,2”, 165. Scotland HS – A freshman who a bright upside. Carter possesses an accurate arm. He throws the long ball well and is expected to compete for a starting position.
- Josh Benton, QB, 6’,1”, 180. Jacksonville HS – An athlete who steps up to the varsity full-time this season as the projected starter. Josh can run and possesses a strong arm. He has the poise and leadership skills to run the offense.
- William (Trey) Thompson, RB/FS, 5’,11”, 170. Watauga HS – Trey is a strong runner who runs hard in between the tackles. He is expected to make an impact on offense and is projected to start.
- Kobie Morrison, QB/RB/SB, 5’,8”, 175. West Caldwell HS – Kobie is a quick, shifty runner who uses power to run over would-be tacklers. Kobie can change speeds once in the open field. He is projected to start on a solid offensive unit.
