Safety’s can secure the back end in coverage, but as also critical in stopping the run. Not everyone has the versatility to do both, but there are plenty safeties in Georgia who are bound for big things at the next level.
David Daniel David Daniel 6'3" | 190 lbs | DB Woodstock | 2021 State GA – Woodstock
One of the top safety prospects in America, the 6-foot-3 190-pound future Georgia Bulldog is a hard-hitting defender who will be asked to do a little bit of everything for the Wolverines this fall. After breaking through as a starter as a sophomore, Daniel’s recruitment blew up early in 2019, and he became a nationally known prospect soon after.
As a prospect, Daniel has good length, lots of muscle, and has some versatility to his game. Right now he can play multiple positions in the secondary, but he’ll primarily play safety at the next level. He runs well for his size, has good ball skills, and certainly looks the part of an SEC-caliber safety.
Jaden Slocum Jaden Slocum 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Alpharetta | 2021 State GA – Alpharetta
One of the more athletic defensive backs in the state, Slocum is a versatile player at. 6-foot-2 180-pounds who stars on offense, defense, and special teams for the Raiders. He’s got a lean frame and good speed to go along with his athleticism. He’s a student of the game and is always going to be at the right place. He reads the quarterback well in coverage from his safety spot and consistently makes plays on passes thrown inaccurately over the middle. Slocum is verbally committed to play at Stanford.
Khari Gee Khari Gee 6'3" | 185 lbs | DB Woodward Academy | 2021 State GA – Woodward Academy
One of the bigger safeties in the state at 6-foot-3 185-pounder if a long, athletic DB who can really strike. He’s got a great frame with room to grow and put on muscle, and as he does, he’ll be able to move all over the defense and play some linebacker. He’s good in coverage on the back end, but he’s excellent coming downhill against the run. He can rush the passer when he needs too, but right now he’s still lean and quick enough to stay at his safety spot. Gee is verbally committed to play at LSU.
Joshua Moore Joshua Moore 6'3" | 195 lbs | DB Marist School | 2021 State GA – Marist
Another bigger defensive back at 6-foot-2 195-pounds, Moore is a dynamic playmaker with really good ball skills. He has a nose for the football and always finds a way to make a big play. He’s a sure tackler, he shows good instincts in coverage, and has the size needed to play at the next level. He’s physically ready to play right now, and he’ll continue to get better and stronger once he enters college. He is verbally committed to play at Stanford.
