Jennings Leads An Impressive Group of Linebackers

Jennings Leads An Impressive Group of Linebackers
Branden Jennings from Jacksonville Sandalwood is certainly a premier linebacker in Florida, but he is not alone. Also profiled today in this senior class are: Sam Ofurie (Bradenton IMG Academy), A’Mahri McCray (Miami Northwestern), Zachary Lovett (Rockledge), Austin Dean (Tampa Berkeley Prep) and Deshauwn Alleyne from Port St. Lucie Centennial.

His father, Bradley Jennings, who starred in high school at Miami Carol City, played for Bobby Bowden from 1997-2001. While you would think the pressure to head to Tallahassee was heavy on his mind, the Sandalwood standout made the decision on his own. Following in the footsteps of his father and his older brother, who is at the University of Miami, this edition of the Jennings family is considered to be among the top five outside linebacker prospects in the nation. He is one of the prospects who figures to see some early playing time for an FSU program that is rebuilding. TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/10633222/Branden-Jennings GIFTED LINEBACKERS ALL OVER THE STATE There are always some amazing linebackers throughout the state of Florida – and this year is no exception. Here are five tremendous prospects from the 2021 class: [player_tooltip player_id="32707" first="Deshauwn" last="Alleyne"], 6-1, 220, Port St. Lucie Centennial. When watching this impressive football play the first thing that comes to mind is relentless. His motor never stops, and whether it’s putting pressure on the quarterback or stopping the run, he is always around the ball – and that’s what makes him so special. TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/7774520/Deshauwn-Alleyne [player_tooltip player_id="32915" first="Austin" last="Dean"], 6-2, 220, Tampa Berkeley Prep. One of the more athletic and versatile linebackers in the state of Florida. Armed with a 3.8 GPA in the classroom, this Rutgers commitment is quick, instinctive and does not quit until he gets the job done. As he gets bigger and keeps his quickness, this is definitely going to be someone that will continue to make huge strides. Expecting to have a solid season once play begins this coming season. TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/6371618/Austin-Dean [player_tooltip player_id="32710" first="Zachary" last="Lovett"], 6-3, 220, Rockledge. From the first time we had the opportunity to watch this young man perform, he was special. Quick, strong, smart and very athletic. Someone that will continue to improve when challenges are put in front of him. Committed to the University of Missouri, this is a player who will spark the team once again this season. TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/9634220/Zachary-Lovett A’Mahri McCray, 6-1, 200, Miami Northwestern. Ever since he was a freshman at North Miami High, this was a prospect who was the center of attention. His move to win a state title with the Bulls last year opened the eyes of colleges all over the nation, but it was the local program that stepped up. This FIU commitment has an opportunity to help his team make a major impact in 2020 when the season gets started. TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/10027896/Amahri-McCray [player_tooltip player_id="32698" first="Sam" last="Ofurie"], 6-2, 240, Bradenton IMG Academy. Whether it was at running back or his linebacker position, this big and powerful athlete, who heads south from Lynn English High in Massachusetts, is a talented football player that everyone will be watching closely. In addition to being versatile on the football field, he is also quite talented as a musician, playing the piano and impressing his coaches and teammates in Florida. TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/10164983/Sam-Ofurie You Can Contact Larry Blustein with prospect or team information at: Foridakids1@aol.com.
