While the game is consistently developing, and there is an ongoing desire for play making TE’s, players such as the one’s we listed below will always find themselves gaining attention, and with that, offers. Check out our three favorite TE’s so far for the 2022 class.
Jake Johnson Jake Johnson 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Maize South | 2021 State KS – 6’5 210 Oconee
Jake Johnson Jake Johnson 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Maize South | 2021 State KS hold some of the biggest offers in the country, which include schools such as LSU, Alabama, and Clemson. He uses his big frame, height, and length to box out defenders downfield as he makes athletic catches that most receivers struggle to make. With this, he catches cleanly with his hands, and tracks it well with his eyes, which allows him to make huge plays on the ball. Johnson does not false step much either, and fires off of the line when he runs routes. With this, he displays a good burst, which helps him beat defenders off the line. This is incredible to see out of a tight end. As he continues to develop in his junior year, he will look to improve his blocking ability, which can be raw at times.
Holden Staes Holden Staes 6'4" | 210 lbs | TE Westminster | 2022 State GA – 6’4 210 Westminster
When watching Holden Staes Holden Staes 6'4" | 210 lbs | TE Westminster | 2022 State GA tape, you can immediately see his ability to block effectively, in which he buzzes his feet, uses his strength and size, and is not afraid to use his hands. His ability to stay on his blocks, and finish them will carry him a long way, especially at the next with his committed school, Penn State. Staes catch radius is also something that we can guarantee Penn State coaches are excited about. With this, not only does he he catch the ball well, but his ability to gain yards after the catch constantly sets him apart, and creates big plays for his offense. Going into his junior year, he will continue to be a big factor for his team, and the Penn State coaches will be salivating at the idea of his impact on their offense in a few years.
Jack Nickel Jack Nickel 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Milton | 2022 State GA – 6’4 230 Milton
Jack Nickel Jack Nickel 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Milton | 2022 State GA , out of Milton High School has already racked up 15 offers, including his school of commitment, Notre Dame. Nickel has strong hands, and finds ways to get downfield and gain yards after the catch. Also, don’t let his big size and frame fool you either, because Nickel can also be shifty, shedding off defenders for extra yards. While he can be a bit of a raw route runner at times, you can expect him to improve on such things, and to be able to gain more offers, as he slowly inches towards a decision of where he will play at the next level.
