A smaller back with good burst and the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Dorn does a good job keeping his feet moving on contact and often will bounce off would-be tackler’s attempts to bring him down. I think this kid could be a huge steal for one school.
Kaeden Dreifurst-Little, 5’11, 215, Moline
Dreifurst-Little had tremendous production in 2019, putting 1207 yards and 14 touchdowns. He’s a natural hands catcher, possesses good speed, and a nasty jump cut. Overall, he has a good frame and could be the most complete back in this group.
Keyton Mitchell, 5’11, 200, Salem
A powerful back with a strong, stiff arm that tends to put defenders on the ground. On-film, Mitchell showed tremendous patience and displayed the ability to bounce to the outside and outrun defensive backs. Has an overall good build and showed terrific ability as a pass protector.
Cayne Smith, 5’11, 190, East Moline
This is a tough back who will take a pounding on an inside ride, but also can spring a run on an outside zone run. He posses adequate speed and will lower his shoulder and run through tacklers. I think he’s bound for a monster senior campaign and I’m very interested to see his senior tape.
Dailen Loveless, 5’11, 195, Prairie Central
Loveless was a master of the cutback in 2019 and somehow always found a way to keep his footing on big runs. His balance could be his best attribute, as he pairs that with a distinctly low pad level style of running. He’s a small school kid with big-time ability.
Jonathan Tucker, 5’8, 170, Marion
Tucker put up good numbers as a junior running for 1,112 yards and 13 touchdowns. This kid was explosive and made you hold your breath every time he touched the ball. He had a tendency to gash defenses and was electric as a returner as well. I think he may be the most talented back in this group.
Trey Malone, 5’10, 240, Rockford Boylan
Malone is a well built, durable back with a workhorse type attitude. This kid can take a pounding and will deliver hits to opposing tacklers and, at times, literally throw people off of him. He played linebacker on top of his running back duties and looked like a natural.
Ryan Mann, 6′, 190, Vernon Hills
I’ve had multiple prospects and coaches rave to me about Ryan Mann. Mann was injured midway through last fall but still showed on-film he can play multiple positions and posses a nasty streak when running the football. I think he’s bound for a breakout 2020 season, and coaches will soon come calling.
Clay Hubble, 5’7, 170, Mahomet Seymour
Hubble may be a smaller, scat type back, but man is he fun to watch. He posses overall good patience and an ability to spot cutback lanes. He’s an outstanding route runner and causes a mismatch on outside linebackers.
Jacob DuRocher, 6, 195, Rochester
DuRocher put up jaw-dropping numbers last fall, going for 1853 yards and 30 touchdowns, on his way to helping Rochester win the 5A State Championship. This is a superb runner, who constantly breaks multiple tackles on one run. He’s a technician catching the football and could have a future in the slot as well.
