As in a lot of recruiting hotbeds, there are players that fall in recruiting that makes people wonder, “How in the world did ____ end up with that guy?!?!”
At PrepRedzone, we try to find these early enough and bring attention to them. Here are 3 players that are probably a little underrecruited right now in the 2021 class.
[player_tooltip player_id="27261" first="Ethan" last="West"] – Seneca Valley: Big athlete with high upside. Probably more of a RB than an OLB. Good vision and burst through the hole. Doesn’t have elite speed but its good enough. Would like to see him be more physical at LB. Could be a kid to come back on late as he continues to fill out his frame
[player_tooltip player_id="27348" first="Eddy" last="Tillman"] – Central Catholic: Small but explosive. Gets to the 2nd and 3rd level of a defense quickly. Explodes through the hole and makes you pay. Thick lower legs make arm tackles very hard on this kid. Doesn’t have the final gear to be a true home run hitter. Average ball skills. His height will hold him back but he was the most productive running back in the highest classification in PA last year. He took his team to the state semi-finals. He will be productive somewhere in college.
[player_tooltip player_id="27357" first="ShiNeil" last="Thomas"] – Laurel Highlands: I could see him playing either side of the ball at the next level. Good speed, good burst, and great vision. Hits the hole hard and gets north. Has the ability to make a defender miss. On defense, he is a hard hitting safety that is good in pass coverage and making plays on the ball.
