Jason Moore Jr., ATH, 5’10, 189, Chicago (De La Salle)
Reggie Bush—the USC Reggie Bush—is the first player that came to mind when watching Jason Moore Jr. The senior stud out of Chicago’s De La Salle is an explosive, supremely gifted do-it-all ATH with the ability to hit pay dirt whenever he touches the ball. Elite speed and quickness and can change directions without losing any steam. Easily evades tacklers in tight spaces and is just as slippery in space. His frame doesn’t suggest it but he’s a tough runner who can run it well up the gut. An intelligent route runner who is dangerous in the catch and run game and knows how to find the holes in the zone and has the speed to get on top of any defensive back. On the flip side, he can be just as dominant on defense in the secondary. Has an incredible nose for the ball, excellent closing speed, covers the field from sideline-to-sideline, and is not afraid to come up and lay the boom on the ball carrier. Moore Jr. has all the tools to be a D1 defensive back, but I feel he’s too talented on offense to not have the ball regularly in his hands; because of that, I believe his true calling is on the offensive side of the ball.
Bryan Smith, RB, 5’10, 165, Barrington
Smith is a fast—very fast—naturally gifted runner of the football. He can eat up space in an instant and routinely destroys the defender’s angle. A decisive, patient runner who can make quick decisions due to his excellent acceleration. Can run between the tackles but is best when he uses his speed and lateral quickness to attack the edges. Adds value as a sure-handed receiver out of the backfield and can even contribute as a receiver in the slot.
Keith Bronson, RB, 5’8, 195, Plainfield South
Keith Bronson is primed for a breakout season after amassing over 1000 yards and 16 TDs on the ground in 2019. The 1st team all-area/ all-conference back is an explosive, power runner with a quick burst to get through the lanes and advance to the next level. Light on his feet for a player of his size and has great contact balance combined with the quickness to make defenders miss in space and in tight areas. A violent and determined runner that won’t hesitate to initiate contact and presents a difficult challenge for solo tacklers. Gets stronger late in games as the opposing defense begins to wear down. Has good leg churn to fight for extra yards and excels as a goal-line/short-yardage runner.
