Each teams have key members returning who find themselves ranked amongst the Kansas Preseason Top 200 Rankings for the Class of 2021.
LB, Christien Hawks Christien Hawks 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Norton County | 2021 State KS , 6’5”, 250, Norton County (Ranked No. 10) – Hawks is jacked and fast. The 250 pounder runs a 4.8 forty and benches 310. He can play both sides of the ball, but his speed projects him to be a high-level defensive end or linebacker in college.
WR, Jonah Ruder Jonah Ruder 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Norton County | 2021 State KS , 6’1”, 190, Norton County (Ranked No. 31) – Ruder is a big target with solid hands. He runs a 4.8 forty and could be used at tight end as well as a defensive end.
ATH, Gavin Sproul Gavin Sproul 6'1" | 200 lbs | ATH Norton County | 2021 State KS , 6’2”, 215, Norton County (Ranked No. 124) – What position Sproul would play at the next level would depend on the level and system. The one thing that is for sure is Sproul plays all-out and had plays the game fast and hard. A combination of speed and good hands makes him a solid candidate to play H Back.
WR, Tyler Gerety Tyler Gerety 6'0" | 190 lbs | WR Nemaha Central | 2021 State KS , 6’0”, 190, Nemaha Central (Ranked No. 147) – Gerety is a breathing nightmare for opposing special team coaches. He has breakaway speed and runs a 4.5 forty. He could play on either side of the ball at the collegiate level depending on a program’s recruiting needs.
Both the Thunder and Blue Jays will be challenged by Hoisington for 2A supremacy. The Cardinals won 11 straight games in 2019 before falling in the state semifinals to Norton County. Hoisington has three athletes in the Top 200.
QB, Mason Haxton Mason Haxton 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Hoisington | 2021 State KS , 6’0”, 175, Hoisington, (Ranked No. 93) – Haxton arguably has one of the best-throwing arms in Kansas. He is quick and can be a threat in a run-first offense.
OL, Nolan Wilborn Nolan Wilborn 5'9" | 200 lbs | OL Hoisington | 2021 State KS , 5’9”, 185, Hoisington, (Ranked No. 107) – Wilborn plays center and defensive end. He also wrestles and has great balance while facing defenders and shedding blockers.
RB, Joshua Ball Joshua Ball 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Hoisington | 2021 State KS , 5’10”, 180, Hoisington (Ranked No. 142) – Baxter has a solid frame and could play multiple positions. He also plays basketball and could play both sports at a junior college.
