THE SCOOOP ON LATHAM:
It had come down to LSU and Ohio State – and when IMG Academy offensive tackle JC Lathan chose the University of Alabama, nobody was really surprised.
One of the nation’s elite line prospects, a 5-star standout, who was a defensive lineman in Wisconsin for two years before moving south to Bradenton, this is someone who is absolutely dominating and imposing.
If you watch him perform, he moves around the field like a large position player – instead of an imposing line prospect who will fit in perfectly with the Crimson Tide.

OTHER 2021 OL ON THE RISE
In addition to the gifted Latham, here are 5 more Class of 2021 Florida offensive linemen to keep an eye on:
[player_tooltip player_id="32867" first="Charles" last="Armstrong"], OT, 6-5, 275, Bradenton Manatee. A very athletic prospect who sticks with his blocks long after the play has past his territory. Running backs love moving behind his large, athletic frame. Solid football talent for the Hurricanes.

[player_tooltip player_id="32875" first="Kareem" last="Harden"], OT, 6-5, 290, Fort Lauderdale Stranahan. One of the more versatile big men in the Sunshine State, he burst onto the scene for the Dragons as a sophomore and showed how gifted he was at multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id="32879" first="Ethan" last="Mort"], OT, 6-6, 275, Venice. Watch this big man perform for the Indians and you are sold right away. Pass blocker, opening holes for the running game, he is very special and technically sound. Gets out of his stance very quickly and plays whistle to whistle.

[player_tooltip player_id="32881" first="Kyuan" last="Phillips"], OT, 6-4, 293, Orlando Dr. Phillips. How athletic is this young man? Ask any coach or player and they will tell you how special this young man is. He gets up field quickly, searching for some hole to open and someone to block. He is strong, quick and very athletic.

[player_tooltip player_id="32886" first="Bruno" last="Zandamela"], OT, 6-8, 310, Clearwater Academy International. One of the toughest thing for a big offensive linemen to do is block smaller defensive linemen, but it is not a problem for this athletic and very gifted prospect. He is not getting the respect that he deserves.
