Continue ReadingWith the launch of Prep RedZone Oklahoma and the 2020 football season right around the corner, it is time to introduce the top players in the state of Oklahoma. From now until the end of fall camp, we will go through the top 3 classes in Oklahoma, taking a look at the top 2-4 players at each position, along with a few honorable mentions who are on the cusp of being in that top 1-2 discussion. Some are familiar names who have been starters for the last 2 or 3 seasons, while others may not be as widely known but are destined for stardom this season.
First up on our list are the top offensive players in class 6a-I.
Quarterbacks
1. Dayton Wolfe Dayton Wolfe 6'1" | QB Westmoore | 2021 State OK : 6’0″ 200 Lbs., Westmoore, Class of 2021
Dayton Wolfe Dayton Wolfe 6'1" | QB Westmoore | 2021 State OK is one of the top returning passers in the class of 2021. Though he did not play a full season in 2019, he had one of the most efficient seasons of any QB across all classes, throwing for 28 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions while also completing close to 65% of his passes. Wolfe is a fearless passer with great pocket awareness. He is always willing to step up in the pocket to find an open man rather than scramble at the first sight of pressure, even if it means taking a hard hit in the process. On top of his accomplishments on the football field, Wolfe has been a starter on the nationally-ranked Westmoore baseball team for the past 3 seasons, showing his versatile athleticism. Though he has not received many offers to play at the next level yet, colleges are sure to come knocking on his door once he has another solid season in 2020.
2. Stephen Kittleman Stephen Kittleman 5'11" | QB Jenks | 2021 State OK : 5’10″ 165 Lbs., Jenks, Class of 2021
Stephen Kittleman Stephen Kittleman 5'11" | QB Jenks | 2021 State OK comes into 2020 with one of the strongest arms in the entire state. His velocity on short and intermediate throws is exceptional. However, he is more than just a one club quarterback. Whether it is a fastball into a tight window or a deep ball that has to be layered in between two defenders, Kittleman can make any throw on the field. Additionally, he is not a true dual-threat QB, but Kittleman has shown that he is more than capable of using his legs to extend a play outside of the pocket. Look for Kittleman to be on a mission with a chip on his shoulder this season after being held to only 6 points in Jenks’ state championship loss to Owasso in 2019.
Honorable Mentions: Jake Raines Jake Raines 5'10" | QB Broken Arrow | 2021 OK : 5’11″ 170 Lbs., Broken Arrow, Class of 2021 | Scott Pfieffer: 6’3″ 180 Lbs. Edmond Santa Fe, Class of 2022
Runningbacks

AJ Green AJ Green 6'0" | RB Union | 2021 State OK is one of the top prospects in all of Oklahoma for the class of 2021 and has already committed to Arkansas ahead of his senior year. He is an absolute speed demon, clocking in at 10.38 in the 100-meter dash last spring. Along with his elite straight-line speed, Green has shown excellent burst and acceleration through the hole and in the open field throughout his career at Union. Perhaps the only “knock” on AJ Green AJ Green 6'0" | RB Union | 2021 State OK as a runner is that some may find it hard to evaluate him once they get past his speed and vision. If he can get a clean hole to run through he will simply outrun the entire defense, eliminating the need to cut back or make defenders miss.
2. Sanchez Banks Sanchez Banks 6'0" | RB Broken Arrow | 2021 State OK : 5’10″ 205 Lbs., Broken Arrow, Class of 2021
Though he has not been as heavily recruited as AJ Green AJ Green 6'0" | RB Union | 2021 State OK , make no mistake, Sanchez Banks Sanchez Banks 6'0" | RB Broken Arrow | 2021 State OK is one of the premier running backs in Oklahoma. In 2019, even while splitting carries with Maurion Horn Maurion Horn 5'11" | RB Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK , one of the top running back prospects in the class of 2022, Banks ran for 1100 yards at the highest level of football in the state. Look for both Banks and Horn to have huge seasons in 2020.
Honorable Mentions: Gabe Trevillison: 5’9″ 180 Lbs., Norman North, Class of 2021 | Caden Hernandez Caden Hernandez 5'7" | RB Yukon | 2021 OK : 5’8″ 160 Lbs., Yukon, Class of 2021
Wide Receivers

After only one year of starting for Edmond Santa Fe Talyn Shettron Talyn Shettron 6'3" | WR Edmond Santa Fe | 2022 State OK has become one of the most coveted receiving prospects in the state. Standing at 6’3″, Shettron uses his height well to box out defenders for 50/50 balls, and he also has the speed and route running capability to be a deep threat in the passing game. Shettron already has a handful of Division 1 offers as a Junior and will have the choice to play just about anywhere by the time his high school career is over.
2. Jaden Bray Jaden Bray 6'3" | WR Norman | 2021 State OK : 6’3″ 190 Lbs., Norman, Class of 2021
Jaden Bray Jaden Bray 6'3" | WR Norman | 2021 State OK has one of the most interesting stories in the state. Last season, Jaden decided to try out for the football team for fun while his main sport, basketball, was in the offseason. After a few practices, Bray earned a starting job and ended up becoming one of the most exciting receivers in the state. He is an elite red zone target, and you can see his basketball background in the way he boxes out defenders in the endzone as if he is going up for a rebound. After only one season Jaden has already earned multiple Division 1 offers and has recently committed to Oklahoma State but is still very raw as a football player. Look for Jaden to make a big leap in 2020 after having a full off-season with the Tigers.
3. Andre Dollar Andre Dollar 6'4" | TE Mustang | 2022 State OK : 6’5″ 230 Lbs., Mustang, Class of 2022
Andre is listed as a tight end but could play either position. After transferring from Florida in 2018, Dollar started for Mustang in 2019 and has already garnered over 20 division 1 scholarship offers. With his choices seemingly endless, it will be interesting to see where Dollar lands in two years.

Offensive Lineman
1. Logan Nobles Logan Nobles 6'6" | OL Jenks | 2021 State OK : 6’6″ 275 Lbs., Jenks, Class of 2021
Recently committed to Oklahoma State, Nobles may easily be the top lineman in not only his class but in the state heading into the 2020 season. Nobles is a very fluid mover for his size and is a very powerful run blocker, often putting guys on their back or running them off the field whenever he gets moving upfield. I can only imagine how grateful Stephen Kittleman Stephen Kittleman 5'11" | QB Jenks | 2021 State OK is to have his blindside protected by Nobles

He has received a handful of Division 1 offers and has recently committed to Air Force, a team whose offense revolves primarily around the flexbone/triple-option attack, which plays perfectly to Gilbert’s strengths.
