Summer camps around Southern California have either began or will begin in early July. While it is unclear when the 2020 football season will begin due to COVID-19 restrictions, here are the top 10 overall players in Southern California based on past performance, future projections and college interest. [player_tooltip player_id="25023" first="Korey" last="Foreman"], Defensive End, Centennial High School, Corona Foreman is the number one recruit in the nation according to Rivals and the number three recruit in the nation on ESPN. The 6-foot-4, 265 pound end is strong enough to stop the run on the strong side and fast enough to generate a pass rush from either side. Foreman has 27 offers with LSU, Clemson and USC listed among the favorites to land the superstar. https://twitter.com/MaxPreps/status/1271189057360535553?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="25025" first="Tyler" last="Buchner"], Quarterback, Helix High School, La Jolla The dual-threat quarterback had an astounding 6,084 yards (4,474 passing, 1,610 rushing) and 81 total touchdowns as a junior at Bishop’s High School last season. Now down the road at Helix High, Buchner is regarded by many as the top quarterback in the state. He had offers from Alabama and many Pac 12 schools before committing to Notre Dame. [player_tooltip player_id="25029" first="Jake" last="Garcia"], Quarterback, La Habra High School, La Habra Garcia was the most talked-about name during transfer season in Southern California. He was a standout quarterback at Narbonne High the past two seasons, which was forced to forfeit all of its games, causing a mass exodus of top players, including Garcia. The 6-foot-2, 195 pound quarterback, who threw for 25 touchdowns in 9 games last season, landed at La Habra High and is committed to USC. [player_tooltip player_id="25026" first="Raesjon" last="Davis"], Outside Linebacker, Mater Dei High School, Santa Ana Davis was one of the standout players on a stellar Mater Dei defense last season. He led the team in sacks (7.5) and had 16.5 tackles for a loss. Davis had many offers and was reportedly considering LSU and USC before verbally committing to LSU on January 1. [player_tooltip player_id="25027" first="Beaux" last="Collins"], Wide Receiver, St. John Bosco High School, Bellflower The 6-foot-2 receiver fit in nicely in a receiving corps with Kris Hutson (Oregon) and Logan Loya (UCLA) last season for the State Champion Braves. Collins had 1008 yards receiving and was second on the team with 14 touchdown catches. He had a 71-yard touchdown catch in the State Championship game against De La Salle. Collins has committed to Clemson where he will join his former St. John Bosco quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. https://twitter.com/Myckena_G/status/1206092009326276610?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="25028" first="Miller" last="Moss"], Quarterback, Mater Dei High School, Santa Ana For months, media members in Southern California were wondering who was going to replace Alabama signee Bryce Young at Mater Dei. On June 19, former Alemany quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="25028" first="Miller" last="Moss"] was officially enrolled at Mater Dei after throwing for 3,118 yards and 28 touchdowns for the Warriors as a junior. Moss was recruited by SEC schools Alabama and Arkansas before verbally committing to USC after being recruited by offensive coordinator Graham Harrell. [player_tooltip player_id="25032" first="Ethan" last="Calvert"], Inside Linebacker, Oaks Christian High School, Westlake Village Calvert was highly-regarded before his junior season and offers came pouring in after the 6-foot-3, 230 pound linebacker helped lead the Oaks Christian defense. He averaged seven tackles per game and had a season-high 15 tackles against Helix. Calvert has a brother who plays at UCLA and another who plays at Washington, but it appears USC is the favorite to land him. [player_tooltip player_id="25031" first="Ceyair" last="Wright"], Defensive Back, Loyola High School, Los Angeles Wright is not only a rising star on the football field, he is a rising star on the big screen. He is playing the son of LeBron James in the upcoming Space Jam 2. On the field, Wright is an elite defensive back who led a CIF championship finalist Loyola team in deflections last season. He is uncommitted and holds 34 offers with Arizona State and Oregon reportedly leading the pack of suitors. [player_tooltip player_id="25052" first="Ma’a" last="Gaoteote"], Outside Linebacker, St. John Bosco High School, Bellflower Gaoteote transferred to St. John Bosco from IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, and fit in nicely with the Braves defense. He took full advantage of the dominant defensive line led by Kobe Pepe, which drew a lot of double teams which led to Gaoteote racking up tackles. His brother Palaie, who currently plays at USC, has said that his brother Ma’a will be a better player than he is. Gaoteote has been verbally committed to USC since last February. [player_tooltip player_id="25039" first="Jaylin" last="Davies"], Defensive Back, Mater Dei High School, Santa Ana Davies dazzled at passing league tournaments last summer and proved in the fall that his skills translate when the pads come on. He was always tasked with covering very talented receivers every week in Trinity League play and during the Monarchs’ nonleague schedule when they played elite teams from around the nation. Davies had a key interception to secure a win against St. John Bosco to win the Trinity League championship. He committed to Oregon on June 19, joining a list of multiple top California recruits including teammate [player_tooltip player_id="25051" first="Kyron" last="Ware-Hudson"]. https://twitter.com/jaylin_davies/status/1274056512852291584?s=20
